Chapter 7

Their eyes were all dilated, surprised by what they had heard. Eugene's heart started throbbing in pain when she walked past him calmly. "Let's do it like this: I'll be fair. As I told you, there will be a winner for the show," she said, crossing her arms and her slow footsteps mingled with the sound of her voice. "I will put you inside a survival show! Isn't it exciting? You will just do as I please, and the one who gets the number one spot will win my heart! Isn't that great? Just like when you were on Idol Island." Gasps and whines were immediately heard as their flabbergasted reactions. At that moment, Sebastian knew what she meant to say. He rolled his hands into a fist and he let his tears slowly fall down his cheeks as the girl stepped past him and stopped in front of the member at the furthest left seat. "Can little David catch my heart, too? Hmm?" The girl leaned closer to look at David's face. The young boy squinted his eyes, flinching away from her. "You crazy b***h!" Fearlessly, David sputtered out loud a word no one expected. All of their eyes widened in surprise. Of course, her calm and confident mood rapidly turned into a blood-curdling temper. "What did you say?" Louder than her latter pitch, her voice echoed inside the whole room as she stared at David, fatally agitated. Instantly, the sound of her voice was replaced by the blaring noise of a spank; she forcefully slapped the boy with her free and powerful hands. "Prick! Don't you dare treat your girlfriend like that if you don't want your life to end right this instant!" It was honestly frightening for June. He closed his eyes and felt the silence, knowing that all the others were as surprised and as scared as him, especially the little boy, David. "Ah, this is making me mad. I should probably bring that man here and finish this introduction." She traced her fingers through her hair and breathed in to try and calm herself down. She breathed out, hard. "Those collars around your necks... It will kill you if you disobey me. Try to talk back once more, and you'll get that blade pierced through your neck and poison running through your blood," she said, warning them, more even-tempered this time, before she walked away from the boys slowly and reached her hand to the darkest side of the room. David's quiet sniffles were immediately heard the moment she had gone away from him. Ten seconds—or probably less—went down before she spoke again. "Do you know who this man is?" Once more, she started to open up another conversation as she revealed something unexpected. Instant puffs and yawning eyes came from the boys when they saw a man sitting in a wheelchair; Mr. Parker, their driver, was tied to it along with duct tape pasted on his mouth. He was equipped with the same things that XYZ had around their bodies. A thick, black collar-like thing wrapped around his neck. "If I press this remote, what do you think will happen?" She revealed a smirk as her eyes met with a certain guy. "Henry... what do you think?" She asked once more. Henry quickly shook his head and bit his lip while his eyes were getting wet. "P-please don't... don't do it, Mr. Parker has a family and he's–" Henry's tears finally fell down when the old man's eyes quivered before they closed. The driver's head fell lifeless to his side as his body remained pale—the blood started to drip down from his neck. He was already dead. "Oops, I accidentally pressed it." Henry looked away and tried his best to stop himself from crying out loud. The voice of the lady was too deceiving; softly comforting yet frightening. Henry just wanted to stop hearing everything. "You get the idea. Look at him. He's dead! Do you want to end up like him, huh?" The lady walked slowly towards them as he looked at her remote closely like she treasured it. "Sam, you will follow my orders, right?" Leaning towards Sam, she held the singer's head and smiled. "Right?" Sam tried to look down. "Answer me!" She placed her fingers on his chin and raised his head to face hers. "Yes! Yes... yes I will, I will, I promise!" "A wise man you are," the girl laughed. She kissed Sam's soft cheeks before she took her hands off and left him trembling in fear. "So, I'm guessing you all get the point. Follow the rules, you win; disobey me, you die. If any of you say or do something that's beyond what I want you to, you know what will happen." She walked away from the boys and transcended into the darkness. She pulled a lever and waited for the smoke to fill the room once again. "I will take you back to your respective rooms. This will be your life now. This is your fate. Welcome to the show, XYZ."
