Chapter 10

It took them hours. They have performed the same songs repeatedly, and she doesn't seem like she would be content anytime. She strikes to be as fervent as how she was even before the boys began dancing. She couldn't take her eyes away from looking at all of them performing like the idols they used to be. It was fine for her to see the boys dance without even smiling. Their movements weren't as precise because they had been feeling so weak since they woke up. If it wasn't for that injection, she thought, they would have regained their strength indisputably. They would have escaped without that drug. Sam wasn't really expecting this. He thought that after being kidnapped by the fanatic, he would be immersed in great torture and suffer from agitation. He postulated that his group would be under intimate touches and crazy picture-takings. She was something else—or at least for now. No one knows what she could do after this “first evaluation” thing. Sam could not think about anything but worries and horror prompts he'd possibly experience. He was tired enough, from everything and from dancing on that stage. The sweat was already covering his body, and he was dancing like a swaying numb puppet. He wasn't even putting in the energy because he didn't have it anymore. He desperately wanted to stop. How would he know if she could kill even a single one of them when she is so obsessed? What if that girl was just as weak as a noodle? Johann could definitely kick her fast so that we could escape, Sam thought. He was filled with fatigue and a strong will to stop. At that moment, he was tired enough to give up. He took glances at the other members, exhausted from the activity. He was starting to have a hard time breathing and his sight was almost spinning. The boy could not take it any longer—he stopped dancing and stood still as he stared at the girl with displeasure. Sam breathed out hard before he started shaking his head. He walked and interrupted the performance, standing in the center while staring at the girl with eyes of hatred. "When will you stop? Don't you know how tiring this is?" Almost all of the other boys were surprised to see Sam giving up and finally speaking up for them. Johann immediately followed the action; he stopped dancing and looked at Sam. Everyone was surprised, and soon enough, all of them did the same. The girl looked startled. "What happened? What are you doing?" She asked, standing up from her chair. Her brows started to furrow. "Who told you to stop? Can't you see that I was enjoying your performance?" An outraged, offended guise took over the girl's character. Sam dashed his fingers through his hair and looked back at her. "What's your problem, huh? What's with this? All of this?" His contemplation enraged him. Sebastian, as XYZ's leader, immediately held Sam's arms to stop and calm him down. "Sam, what are you doing?" He whispered in his lowest voice. "No, it's too much. Can't we just settle this, once and for all? I can give you all of my money. I can even buy more boys for you, just stop this f*****g madness of yours," he daringly proposed. The girl's hands turned to fists with anger. She stared at Sam with raging eyes. "You scumbag, watch that little mouth!" Her sudden exasperated scream filled the whole room. "How dare you say that? After all the hard work I've done to finally be able to do this, how dare you assume that I'm just mad?" "You're mad, you're crazy," Sam fearlessly answered back. He was so angry that he was having a hard time breathing. "And what is this, huh? You even wrapped sharp blades around our necks to scare us? You're making s**t up, woman. Watch me ruin all of the things you've prepared to fill your obsessive pleasure," Sam continued. Sebastian was ready to stop him, but he was motivated to do it. He held the thick, solid collar around his neck and tried his best to pull it out. He was desperate. He thought he could've ended this easily. The moment he pulled the collar, an abrupt mechanism built into it suddenly ran automatically. Sharp blades came out of the neck collar, followed by the dripping yellow substance running through it. The blades pierced through Sam's skin and his hands fell down from touching it. His eyes dilated into a big, surprised manner. He immediately felt the rush of blood coming out through his neck. "Sam!" The other boys were just as surprised. They quickly ran towards him as the blood streamed out his neck. "f**k it, this can't be happening…" Sebastian held Sam as he fell down the floor in an instant. Dominic covered his mouth as his eyes gaped in surprise, seeing the amount of blood rushing out his friend's neck. Henry's knees weakened, and he fell down the floor as tears rushed down his cheeks. Murmurs and cries filled the room as they all looked at their friend's body. "No, please, you can't." Johann ran towards Sam, his hands shaking. His widened eyes tried their best to analyse his friend. He held Sam's cheeks, crying. "Sam? Sam, hey, can you hear me?" He shook Sam's shoulders, for Sam was not moving any longer. Johann's heart couldn't seem to take it all. It throbbed in pain, making his tears stream like a waterfall from his eyes. At that time, all of them were weak as puppets. Johann shook his head, firmly holding Sam's pale hands. "No," he sniffled. He hugged Sam's dead body desperately as he grieved for his friend. "Get your hands off of him, all of you. Now! Get away from him or I'll kill you one by one," the girl warned, loudly, tickling every one of them with fear. Johann was so afraid, he felt like he was losing his mind. He was shaking like crazy, forcing himself to stand and holding himself back from hugging Sam. Of course, he was afraid; what could happen more, if the thing on their necks legitimately killed their friend in front of them? "I'm so sorry, Sam..." Johann sobbed, pulling himself up after gently putting down Sam's lifeless body. The touch of goosebumps filled the boys in the quickest way, and all they could do was stand up and leave Sam on the ground. As the girl came near, holding the remote that sent them all into panic, the boys' snivels wouldn't stop in the background. They all stepped back when the girl went to Sam and checked the boy's pulse. David felt so afraid, he couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. "Oh my god..." David didn't want to leave Sam lying alone there, but he had no choice. All of them were crying and David felt too devastated to think that one of the XYZ members, for real, had lost already. They were in great tears as they looked at their friend lying on the floor, lifeless. "You will all go back to your rooms. This i***t just killed himself, what a waste of a candidate for my beautiful show," she chided indignantly. David's tears could not stop from falling like a stream. He hugged Sebastian and closed his eyes as he sobbed with heart-rending trepidation.
