Jacques follows closely behind Jean and shuts the door behind him. In his hand, he still holds the gun. He stands next to the door.
Willa sits on the couch. When the door is slammed open, she looks up in shock. Her eyes are red but the surprise on her face gives way to a wonderful color of joy. Speechless, as if the overwhelming relief has turned her to stone, she sits motionless with the smile of delight shining through her tears.
In the exuberance of her nature, Elmien wants to jump up and run to Jacques, but upon seeing the joy also appearing in his eyes, she notices the tense expressions on both of her friends’ faces.
