Rory's heart skipped a beat. It had been a long time since they had been alone together like this.
She glanced behind King Blake, fearing that Wendy would suddenly appear, just like the previous times.
"She won't come," King Blake said, as if reading Rory's thoughts.
"Aren't you going to give me any explanation?" She heard her voice trembling.
King Blake's eyes darkened, and he suddenly reached out to touch Rory.
Rory dodged backward, avoiding his outstretched hand. "Tell me." she wanted to know her position in his life. She was feeling like a toy tossed here and there for fun.
"Rory, I can't tell you about it, but I hope you can trust me." King Blake looked into her eyes.
"What's your relationship with her?" she snapped.
"Friends." King Blake explained, staring in distant.
