Chapter 16

I saw two silver statues of wolves in an upright position with their heads held up high, facing the sky as if they were about to howl. Instead, I could see blue water popping out of their mouths and flowing smoothly around the gorgeous fountain. I could see butterflies, hear birds chirping, feel serene and there was a different aura to it.

The fountain was placed in the center of what looked like a garden, umm no jungle or dense forest. Before I could appreciate the astounding beauty of this place and figure out where exactly it was, flames started dancing in the air. All that my eyes saw was flames, flames and flames; I could hear several voices of people and wolves, running vigorously here and there to escape and few trying to douse the flames. I saw wildfires spreading more rapidly than one could control. Suddenly, I felt the heat, the panic and fear engulfed me, as always.

Just then I woke up with a,, startled, blinking my eyes, panting, sweating, looking around and trying to soothe myself.

‘All is well, all is well, ...’ I chanted repeatedly to calm myself and I could feel two pairs of sparkling eyes standing at the door of my room and watching me in amusement. It was my mate Ares. The man's face was in dire need of a shave and his hair was a mess. We loved each other so much that we couldn’t stay apart. Before I could react, he picked me up and sat me in his lap, his face buried into my neck, breathing in my scent as if all he needed to breathe was my scent. I knew being kidnapped would take a toll on him, but I was here now, and safe in his arms.

" Baby, hey I am here, you did it, you rescued me and I am here," he was in a complete mess. The strong man I came to love was crying like a baby holding me so close to him. " I won't leave Ares,"

" I can't find him, he and Rowena just disappeared. I tried so hard, but no matter how hard I try, I still can't find them," I sighed, " This was no reason for you to be beating yourself up like this. You did your best. We now know who the real threat is, so we will be ready next time." I managed to calm him and his wolf. We made love for the first time since we reunited. It felt like magic, I wanted more and more of him and he was the same.

I brushed his hair and shaved his facial hair. I didn't know if I wanted Ares with facial hair. He also mentioned that the witch Elphaba was still there, and we should ask her to explain my dream.

The witch explained that the two silver wolves are Ares and I. The beautiful serene garden represents our love and happiness. The flames represent a war on the horizon. At that moment, I saw the rage and anger within Ares's eyes, he wanted Rowena and Lucas dead so badly and my dream only made the situation a lot worse. "If I may Alpha," the witch said. Ares took a deep breath and motioned for her to continue. " I would like to remain with her until the enemies have been dealt with," I was even a bit taken back by this sudden suggestion. Witches rarely get involved in wars unless there was something that they needed. " And what would you like in return?" I asked. She looked at me with a smile, she walked to where I was sitting and sat beside me. She reached for my hands, Ares growled, but the witch remained calm, still holding my hands. " You are special. Kitsune, I've not seen one of your kind in a very long time. Besides, our futures are intertwined. Now that i know that, I will always protect you."

" Protect me, why?"

" The answer to your question is lye within your dreams, they have started because of the trauma you've had to endure, but now that they have begun, they won't stop, my dear,"

" Is that all the reason for joining this fight?" Ares asked. That witch looked up at him with a smirk, "you know me too well, Alpha, but no, that witch i fought in the woods. She was Rowena, wasn't she? I will not pass on this glorious occasion of killing her myself."

" Then that settles it. Then, we will enter an alliance with the witch, to fight for our pack and protect my mate." The next few months there was no attack on our pack. Elphaba did set up a protection barrier, but still we didn't sense Lucas or his rouges, or Rowena, but we did spend every day preparing. Even if I started working out with Ares and Matt, learning how to fight and building my body's strength, I refuse to be weak, I am Luna and I will protect my pack.

On the day we arrived at the pack, Savannah went into shock. The pack doctor said it was from the amount of drugs and wolfsbane still present in her blood. Lucas was truly a monster. She has been in comma ever since. I felt bad for Simian. He finally found his mate and he couldn't even be happy, and poor Savannah. Yes, she allowed Lucas to brainwash her, but we've all done bad things at some point for love, but it still doesn't mean she deserved that. The doctor said she was improving daily, and that all her wounds were healing on their own, which means the wolfsbane was no longer in her blood. It meant she just needed to wake up and that was all her choice.

Simian never leaves her hospital room. He talks to her and touches her so she will feel the mate bond and wake up. Every day there is improvement and every day there is hope.
