Two weeks of sneaking around, stolen kisses, and me still choking on those three words he kept saying. Two weeks of smiling like everything was fine while someone lurked in the shadows, taking pictures. At breakfast, Evan put his spoon down and frowned. “Why’s Daddy smiling all the time now?” I almost dropped my coffee. “Huh?” “He keeps grinning at his phone and humming songs. And you… you’re actually singing while you make breakfast. You never do that.” My stomach flipped. He was right. Even with the fear chewing at me, I felt lighter. Happier than I’d been in years. It scared the hell out of me. “Maybe we’re both just having good days,” I said, trying to sound casual. Evan looked at me with those big blue eyes that were pure Caleb. “Are you and Daddy boyfriend and girlfriend now?”
