The proctor remained calm, his voice firm and unwavering. "I'm well aware of who you are, and I don't care about the influence of your father. Cheating and disruptive behavior will not be tolerated in this exam hall in my presence. Now, I suggest you leave immediately before I call security." Tyson opened his mouth to protest, but the proctor cut him off. "This is my final warning. Leave, or face the consequences." Realizing his threats were falling on deaf ears, Tyson reluctantly gathered his belongings and with a final bitter glare at Aaron, he stormed out of the exam hall, his face a mask of fury and humiliation. Aaron watched the exchange, feeling a sense of triumph and relief, proud to have stood up to his bully for once. The exam came to a close and Aaron felt a sense of cautious optimism. He had managed to maintain his focus and complete the test to the best of his abilities, despite the disruption caused by Tyson. He gathered his belongings and shamefully pulled the hood of his sweatshirt over his head, hoping to avoid attention as he did earlier to make his way to the examination room. However, upon exiting the hall, a sudden tug from behind yanked the hood off. Startled, he stumbled and fell loudly, drawing the gaze of everyone around. "Hey guys, it's the elephant-headed star of that viral video!" a voice jeered loudly, prompting laughter from the crowd. Aaron hurriedly picked up his stuff from the ground and pulled his hood back over his head, then he slipped away as fast as he could. Once he was out of sight, he slowed down, breathing hard as he tried to calm himself. On his way home, he cut through an empty alley to get away from the mocking voices for good. As he walked lost in the mess of the recent events, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him. He turned around to see a group of shady burly guys, armed with baseball bats, approaching with a clearly threatening intent. Aaron started running without looking back, desperate to get away. Up ahead, he spotted a side path and turned sharply, hoping to lose them. As he turned the corner, he bumped into someone solid. The man stood with his arms crossed, not moving at all. His size and presence made Aaron stop in his tracks. Aaron looked up and saw Tyson towering over him, a cruel smile on his face. Gripped with fear, Aaron’s stepped back, but before he could move farther, the others caught up. In seconds, he was surrounded. He glanced around. The alley stretched on, empty and silent, with no way out. As Tyson and his g**g stepped closer, baseball bats in hand and grinning with cruelty his fear rose and his breathing became quick and shallow. Above them, dark clouds rolled in, covering the last light of day. The alley grew darker, the air thick with tension. Tyson, tall and imposing, stepped out from the circle and moved toward Aaron. His shadow loomed over him like a warning. Without pause, he grabbed Aaron’s shirt and lifted him off the ground as if he weighed nothing. "Well, well," he sneered, his voice mocking. "Look who walked right into the wolf’s den. You’re so predictable." Aaron squirmed, his heart racing, but Tyson’s grip only tightened. "You’ve really messed up this time," Tyson growled, his face inches from Aaron’s. "Do you even know who you’re dealing with? Not only did you humiliate me, but in addition, I, Tyson, got thrown out of the exam room because of you, piece of shit." He spat on Aaron’s face, his cronies breaking into cruel laughter. Suddenly, with a brutal shove, he sent Aaron crashing to the pavement. Dazed but resolute, Aaron got up as quickly as he could, coughing to catch his breath while scanning feverishly around him. He was outmatched. "You really thought you could mock me and walk away without paying the price?" Tyson barked. "All you had to do was send me the answers, and none of this would’ve to happen. But no, no. You had to stand up to me, and gamble with your life. Well, here we are." The sky darkened further and Tyson's speech was interrupted by a loud and deafening thunderclap. "You see, even the sky is against you today. Now you will learn what it costs to provoke my wrath." Tyson continued, his angry face lit malevolently by a lightning flash. Then, he cracked his knuckles in a succession of snaps that hinted at his desire to crush Aaron's bones. Still gasping for breath, Aaron raised his hands in a desperate plea he thought he would never have to let out again before Tyson. "Please... I... I didn't mean to... I'm sorry..." At these words, Tyson’s lips twisted into a cruel grin. A low chuckle slipped out, growing louder until it became a harsh laugh that shook his broad frame. “For an actor… you’re the best,” he mocked, laughing between each word. “Did you hear that, you pathetic fool? He’s apologizing!” Tyson shouted, his cruel laughter broken now and then by a sharp snort. Then, Tyson’s face hardened and. without warning, he drove his fist into Aaron’s stomach. The blow knocked the air from his lungs, and Aaron collapsed, clutching his belly. The pain was so strong he thought he might vomit. Tyson signaled his cronies, and they rushed at Aaron, swinging their bats with full force. Pain shot through him with every blow, making it hard to think or move. Rain began to fall, but the g**g kept beating him like hungry beasts on easy prey. Aaron curled up, arms over his head, trying in vain to shield himself from the brutal attack. The rain poured harder, turning the alley into a brutal, one-sided fight. Aaron’s strength gave out under the beating. Barely holding on, he prayed someone would step in before it was too late. “Stop, it’s fine. I think he’s had enough. Let’s go,” Tyson said, gasping as he struck Aaron one last time. He then crushed Aaron’s glasses under his foot, glancing around nervously as rain streamed down his face and flattened his black hair. ··•·•·•·· Aaron stood in a desert that seemed to go on forever, with red sand stretching as far as he could see. The air was hot and heavy, making it hard to breathe. Above him, the sky glowed with bright red and gold colors, looking like it was on fire. Then came a voice, soft yet commanding, echoing across the silent desert. "It is time to take responsibility for your destiny." He jumped in fear. The voice was feminine, warm but edged with authority. His heart pounded as a thought struck him. “Mom?” he whispered, then louder, his voice shaking. “Mom? Is that you? Are you talking to me?” He turned in circles, searching for her. The wind rose, whipping red sand around him. The ring flared brighter, sparking wildly. Aaron shielded his face, his chest tight with fear and hope. "You must take responsibility," the voice said again, closer now, as if right behind him. "For what?" Aaron cried. "What are you talking about? I don’t understand!" The storm thickened, hot sand blinding his sight. Then a bolt of deep red lightning split the sky, slamming into the ground ahead. From the blinding glow emerged a hooded figure, its face hidden in shadow. "Who are you?" Aaron demanded, stepping back, his voice unsteady. The figure gave no reply. It only raised a hand and pointed at his right hand. At the same time, a sharp pain suddenly shot through that hand. He gasped and looked down. There was his mother's ring on his finger glowing a fierce red, It pulsed with energy, alive. He clawed at it, trying to pull it off, but the ring clung to his skin, burning hotter with every second. Before Aaron could speak again, the ground split open beneath him, and he plunged into darkness.
