The college romance

Chapter 9

Sanjh’s POV

I was in the middle of a very beautiful dream which was ruthlessly broken broken by my stupid alarm clock indicating that it was time to get up if I don’t want to get late for my College and I with a heavy heart got up from the comfort of my bed . Usually I am a bit cranky in the morning time but today it feels like it’s going to be a good day and with that thought I made my way towards the washroom and completed the morning chores and went to fill my empty stomach. As I reached the dining table everyone stopped and suddenly went silent. I could not help but ask , what is going on? Why did you all suddenly went silent? 

Dad : Nothing baby everything is good it’s just that we have a surprise for you.

Sanjh: what ? Really?

Mom: yes but first you have to promise you won’t misuse it.

Sanjh: How could I promise if I don’t even know what my surprise is?

Krishna: Mom stop warning my sister. She is more responsible than any of us.( Bhai said while giving me a side huge )

Sanjh: ( and I have him one of my best smile)

Mom: yeah yeah I know. 

Dad : so here ( he said forwarding his hands with the keys)

Sanjh: I took the keys with confusion and asked what is that for?

Krishna: go check it out yourself. It’s waiting for you outside.

Sanjh: I didn’t need to be told twice and rushed outside only to see a brand new Audi on our door steps . I was mesmerised by its beauty. So smooth, so beautiful. I couldn’t hold my excitement and asked is it for me? (hoping that it’s true)

Dad: yes it’s for you . It is a present from our side , so that you could easily go to college.

Sanjh : Thanks dad you are the best . ( I said while giving him a hug)

Dad: your welcome baby ( he said while kissing my forehead)

Krishna: hey what about me ? For your kind information it was my idea ( he said while folding his hands in front of his chest and making a puppy face)

Sanjh : aww thank you bhai and I love you so much (I said and gave him a hug) 

Dad : But I must tell you your mom was highly against the idea of giving you a car.

Mom: that’s only because I care for her and love her way too much and I don’t want to see her hurt.

Sanjh : mom don’t worry I’ll be safe , I promise. Come on now smile( and she couldn’t help but smile)

Mom: now let’s have breakfast or you all will be late. 

After breakfast 

I reached College and parked the car and as soon as I got out of the car I was tackled by none other than my best friend Divya in a hug.

Divya: congratulations girl. What an awesome car.

Sanjh : Thanks 

Divya: you would have to let my try this beauty after the college.

Sanjh: of course you can drive all you want.

Now let’s go to class

We entered the class and took place on our respective seats.

I was busy chatting with Divya that I didn’t notice that someone sat behind until he cleared his throat to gain my attention and I turned behind to get the biggest shock of my life that Aviraj was sitting behind rather than with his friends and his friends were also looking quite cool with it.

Aviraj: I think you should close your mouth or definitely you will swallow a fly.

( he said and I quickly close my mouth)

Sanjh: I couldn’t help but ask why are sitting here.

Aviraj: why? Is it written here that I cannot sit in this place.

Sanjh: no , it’s just you sit with your friends and now you are sitting behind me.

Aviraj: So is it a bad thing or you don’t want me to sit behind you? Do I bug you that much?

( he asked and there was a hint of hurt in his voice and he seemed sad too)

Sanjh: no no I just asked generally and I don’t have any problem if you sit here and moreover we are friends too right?

( I said as I did not wanted to see him sad and as soon as I said that a megawatt smile appeared on his face and I must he looks more handsome when he smiles)

Aviraj: right . I thought you won’t consider me as your friend after what I did to yesterday but I am glad that you forgave me .

Sanjh: there was nothing for me to forgive you , you did nothing wrong, as it was my mistake too and I know I have a habit of going into dreamland at the most wrong time .

( I said trying to lighten his mood as he seems to be very guilty for yesterday events and moreover I have already forgotten what ever happened yesterday)

Aviraj: Thank you Sanjh for excepting my friendship. 

Sanjh: it’s okay Aviraj and I am glad to be your friend.

Aviraj: can I ask you something?

Sanjh: yeah sure

Aviraj: will you and Divya join me and my friends during lunch.

Sanjh: I need to ask Divya first and won’t your friends mind us being there.

Aviraj: no they won’t, they actually happens to like you .

Sanjh : then okay I’ll ask Divya and if she would be comfortable, we will join you guys .

Aviraj: I will wait for you

( he said we continued to concentrate on our lecture)

All the lectures passed in a haste and lunch break arrived I asked Divya if she is okay to have lunch with Aviraj and his friends and she was more than okay as she loves to make new friends and just like that we made our way towards his table.

He stood up when he saw us coming towards his table .

Sanjh : hy ( I said to all of them nervously)

Shivani: hy , you are Sanjh right ?

( she asked and I nodded my head)

Omg you so cute ( she said while pinching my cheeks)

Aviraj: Shivani stop what are you doing? You are making her uncomfortable.

Sanjh: no it’s okay and she is Divya my best friend ( I introduced Divya to everyone)

( they all greeted Divya and we all sat down and started having lunch . At first it was a bit awkward but later I got used to them and I must say they were quite fun to be with and Divya too enjoyed their company)

We were just talking randomly about anything and I must say it was quite a good feeling to have friends.

Rohit: Sanjh , Divya actually we all are going to watch a movie after college would you both like to join us .

Divya: yeah sure we would love to.( Divya replied excitedly)

Sanjh: sure but I first need to inform my parents.

Aviraj: it’s okay we all will meet at the parking after college will end okay?

( Aviraj asked and all agreed with him)
