I'm sitting down on my bed, sketching on my sketch book. Tonight is the prom night and I actually don't feel like I want to go. I'm still mourning about my mom's dying.
Suddenly the door bell is ringing. I walk downstairs and open the door and I see Sam is standing by the door. Yeah he already moved back to his family since their parents rent a house in Lima and got jobs back here again.
"I'm going to get ready and go change. Give me ten minutes?" I raise my eyebrows at him.
"No, if you don't want to go. Don't go. I know you're still upset." Sam says to me.
"But it's selfish." I half smiled.
Sam rubs my cheek and shakes his head. "It will be selfish if I'm still want to go to the prom when my girlfriend is still mourning." Sam says. "I brought ice cream and we still have prom next year so.." Sam smiles at me.
I smile back at him and take his hand. "Come on in." I smile at him and let him in. "The house seems so empty ever since you moved out."
"Yeah I'm kinda noisy one right." Sam chuckles. "Where is Mr. Schue?"
"Went to school to watch the glee kids." I said to him and walk to the kitchen. "Do you already have dinner?"
"Not yet." Sam shakes his head.
I walk behind the counter and open the fridge. "I haven't eat anything since this noon." I said to him and take calamari out of the fridge.
"Sit down and I'll cook you food." Sam simply said.
"No. It's fine." I shake my head.
"Sit down!" Sam simply said.
I sigh and walk to the counter. Sam walks to behind the counter and open the fridge. "Sam, let's go to the prom."
"Are you sure?" Sam turns his face at me.
"Yes. I shouldn't be being sad sack like this. I'm sure my mom wants me to go to the prom. She was the prom queen during her senior year." I smile at Sam.
"I have my tuxedo in my car." Sam smiles back at me.
"Okay, ten minutes." I giggle and run upstairs.
I take the dress from my closet. It's a golden silver dress that mom ever wore to her senior prom. I took this dress when we cleaned up mom's stuff from her former apartment.
I put the dress on and take black high heels. I'm standing in front of my vanity mirror and put little make up on my face and do my hair. I let my hair down with little curly on the bottom.
After that I put my heels on and look at myself in front of the mirror. I really look like mom. I smile and take my phone then walk downstairs while lift up my dress a bit.
Sam suddenly stands up from his seat as he is sitting down on the couch in family room and wear a tuxedo.
"Wow you are going to be the most beautiful girl in that prom tonight." Sam smiles at me.
I smile back at him and flip my hair back to my earlobe. "Umm shall we go now?"
"I have one more thing." Sam says and takes something. He takes my hand and put wrist corsage on my wrist. "I match the ribbon with your eyes color. I bought this in case you want to go to the prom and here you are." Sam smiles at me.
I smile back at him and pull my face closer to him and kiss him while having my arms around his shoulder. Sam kisses me back and pulls away.
"Shouldn't we go now?" Sam chuckles.
"Yes, come on." I take his hand
Sam holds my hand and walks lead me out of my house. I walk our from my house and locked the door. I get into his car and smile. Life should move on and so do I.
Sam start driving away from my house to school. I smile and look at to the street. We're finally arrived at school. Sam parks his car in the parking lot. I walk out from the car and look around.
"Need an arm?" Sam smiles at me.
I chuckle and hold his elbow as we walk into the school. We walk in the hallways and turn our way to the gymnasium and look around.
"This is not really bad as a dinosaur prom." I smile at Sam.
"You guys came." Dad smiles at us.
"Well, I didn't convince her but she made her own choice." Sam chuckles.
"You don't have to convince me." I smile at Sam.
"Is this your mom's dress?" Dad asks me.
"Yes. I took it when we cleaned her stuff from her apartment. She wore this on senior year and won the prom queen right? I saw that on your yearbook." I said to dad.
"Yes." Dad nods and smiles. "Alright, go dance and have fun." Dad smiles at us and walks away.
"May I have this dance?" Sam smiles at me and shows me his hand.
I smile back at him and take his hand. We then walk to the dance floor and start dancing slowly while Santana, Brittany, and Tina are singing on the stage.
"Looks like everyone is as happy as I am now." Sam smiles at me.
"This is first time I went to a prom with a boyfriend." I giggle.
"And next year, we will be the prom queen and king." Sam smiles. I smile and lean my head on his chest as we both are dancing together. "I'll be right back." Sam kisses my forehead and walks away.
I raise my eyebrows and look around. I walk to the punch bowl and take a cup of punch. I sip it then look around I see dad is talking with coach Beiste and Miss Pillsbury.
"What's up, McKinley?!" Artie shouts from the stage.
I turn my face to the stage and laugh as I see Sam, Mike, Rory, Artie, and Joe are standing on the stage. I walk closer to the stage and the music start begin.
Joe:
You're insecure
Don't know what for
You're turning heads when you walk through the doo-o-or
Don't need make up
To cover up
Being the way that you are is eno-o-ough
Rory with New Directions Boys:
Everyone else in the room can see it
Everyone else but
Rory:
Yo-ou
Artie with New Directions Boys:
Baby you light up my world like nobody else
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
You don't kno-o-ow
You don't know you're beautiful
Joe with New Directions Boys:
If only you saw what I can see
You'll understand why I want you so desperately
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe
You don't kno-o-ow
You don't know you're beautifu-u-ul
That's what makes you beautiful
Mike:
So c-come on
You got it wrong
To prove I'm right I put it in a so-o-ong
I don't know why
You're being shy
And turn away when I look into your eye-e-es
Rory with New Directions Boys:
Everyone else in the room can see it
Everyone else but
Rory:
Yo-ou
Artie with New Directions Boys:
Baby you light up my world like no(with Joe body else)
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
You don't kno-o-ow
You don't know you're beautiful
Joe with New Directions Boys:
If only you saw what I can see
You'll understand why I want you so desperately
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe
You don't kno-o-ow
You don't know you're beautifu-u-ul
That's what makes you beautiful
Sam with New Directions Boys:
Na, na-na-na, na-na-na, na-na
Na, na-na-na, na-na
Na, na-na-na, na-na-na, na-na
Na, na-na-na, na-na
Sam:
Baby you light up my world like nobody else
The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
But when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
New Directions Boys:
You don't kno-o-ow
Joe:
You don't know you're beautiful
Artie (and Joe) with New Directions Boys:
Baby you (light up my world like nobody else)
The way that you flip your hair (Joe: Come on) gets me overwhelmed
But when you (smile at the ground) it ain't hard to tell
You don't kno-o-ow
You don't know you're beautiful
Joe (and Artie) with New Directions Boys:
If only you saw what I can see
You'll understand why I want you so desperately (Artie: desperately)
Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe
(You don't know)-o-ow
You don't know you're beautifu-u-ul
(You don't know you're beautiful)-u-ul
Artie and Joe with New Directions Boys:
That's what makes you beautiful
I smile and applauding at the end they sing this song. Sam jumps to me and standing in front of me. The music is finally stop and principal Figgins is standing behind the microphone.
"Quiet please children." Principal Figgins says from the microphone. "First I have an announcement to make: There are reptiles living in McKinley toilets no more. The family of snakes has been safely removed to the zoo, and they can life out their lives in the toilets there." Principal Figgins says as the students start cheering and applauding. "And now, this year's Prom Court: Nominees for the Prom King are: Finn Hudson, Rick "The Stick" Nelson, and President Brittany S. Pierce. The nominees for Prom Queen: Missy Gunderson, Santana Lopez, and Miss Quinn Fabray. I would like to invite last year's queen, sassy male student Kurt Hummel, to crown this year's winners. And this year's Prom King is....... Mr. Finn Hudson." Principal Figgins says as we are applauding and Kurt crowns Finn. "And the winner for Prom Queen is..... Students, for the second year in a row, we have prom anarchy. Receiving the majority of write-in votes, I would like to welcome on the stage Miss Rachel Berry."
I raise my eyebrows and frown. "How come she won?" I turn my face at Sam.
"I don't know." Sam shakes his head.
"McKinley Titans, bow down to your new leaders! And now first dance of this year's Senior King and Queen!" Principal Figgins says.
"But can we have one last dance before this prom ended?" Sam grins at me.
"Yes, sure." I smile at him and take his hand.
We both start having slow dancing as Quinn and Santana are singing on the stage. I just hope that next year will be my crown. I will get that prom queen next year.
I turn my face to the stage and see Quinn is slowly standing up from her wheelchair. I smile and start applauding.
"It's a prom miracle." Sam simply said.
I smile and applauding. Sam hugs me from behind and kisses my head. I smile and look around until I see a shadow of mom and dad dancing on this dance floor wearing the same dress like I wear now as the prom king and queen. I know I miss my mom like crazy.

"Daddy!" I run downstairs hold Orly in my arms and wrapped his body with a blanket.
"What is it?" Dad turns his face at me.
"His body is shivering." I said to dad.
Dad walks to me and takes Orly from my arms. "Yes his body is shivering. We can take him to the vet. Come on." Dad hands Orly back to me.
I hold Orly in my arms and put my phone into my pocket then walk out from our house as dad locked the door. I look at Orly and he is just closing his eyes and shivering. I'm sure he is sick.
Dad and I get into the car. I keep holding Orly and wrapped him up with blanket. "It's alright, Orly. You're going to be okay." I said to Orly.
Dad rubs my hair and keeps driving. "He is probably having flu and the vet may take him care for couple of days." Dad says to me.
I let out a sigh and nod. Dad parks his car in front of the vet. I walk out from the car and dad takes Orly from my arms. We then walk in and walk to the receptionist.
"Hi, our dog is shivering. His name is Orly." Dad says to her.
"Right this way." She smiles at us and walks lead us to a room.
Dad put Orly on the bed as he is still shivering. I rub Orly's body slowly until the vet walks in and smiling at us.
"Do you mind to wait outside?" The vet asks us.
"Yeah sure." Dad nods and takes my hand.
I turn my face at Orly and half smiled then hold dad's hand and walk behind him. "Dad, I'm scared to lose Orly." I said to him.
"You won't." Dad rubs my head.
I sit down next to him and lean my head on his shoulder. The vet walks out from the room and smiles at us.
"He is having cold. I'm assuming that you took him to bath twice a week right?" The vet says to us.
"Yeah he was kinda dirty from playing in the backyard and I took him to bath." I nod. "But is he okay right?"
"He is fine. He just needs to stay here for couple days and I'll let you know when he can go back home. Don't worry." The vet smiles at us.
"I'm sorry, my daughter is still mourning of her mom's dying and she doesn't want to lose her dog." Dad says to the vet.
"It's okay he will be fine in three days." The vet smiles at us.
"I'm going to fill the application first." Dad rubs my hair and walks away.
I walk following him and let out a sigh. I hold my hand and take a look at the room from the window as they moves Orly to a dog bed. I hope that Orly will be fine. I don't want to lose him.
"Wanna go get ice cream?" Dad asks me.
"Okay." I nod.
Dad chuckles and rub my head. "He will be fine." Dad says to me as we walk out from the vet.
I sigh and walk into the car. Dad gets into the car and start driving away. I turn my face to the street and I guess this is the right time to ask dad about the things between him and miss Pillsbury.
Dad parks his car in front of the ice cream joint. I walk out from the car and walk in then look around for my table. Dad walks to the counter to order.
I take my phone and look at it. Dad walks to our table and brings two banana splits. I chuckle and take one then start eating it.
"Dad?" I raise my eyebrows at him.
"Yes?" Dad turns his face at me.
"I want to ask you this but promise me you won't get upset or mad." I said to him. "Promise?"
"I promise." Dad nods.
"Are you and miss Pillsbury are still dating?" I ask him.
Dad turns his face at me and nods slowly. "Yes. I can't hide it from you anymore."
"Why do you want to hide it?" I frown at him.
"Because I don't want to make you sad." Dad half smiled.
"Coach Beiste said that you give up on the love of your life for me. Just to make me happy." I said to dad.
"Well you are the love of my life." Dad says to me.
"Dad, I'm your daughter not the love of your life. Do you want to be with her?" I ask dad.
"Of course I do." Dad sighs.
"Then what about you?" Dad asks me.
"As long as you're happy, I'll be happy. I've seen how lonely you've been ever since you and mom got divorced and maybe it's time for you to think about yourself for once and not me. I'm fine." I smile at dad.
"You know just because I dated Emma doesn't mean that I don't love your mom. I'll always love her, she gave me the greatest gift that the world couldn't compare. She was the love of my life." Dad smiles at me.
"Mom is now in a better place. She can ask God for everything she wanted to and I'm sure she wants you to be happy too. You know mother-daughter instinct." I giggle.
"Yes. I know that." Dad nods. "But, sweetie I don't want to see you being depressed again. I want you to be happy and all." Dad says to me.
"Daddy, I'm happy. I missed mom but I'm trying to accept the truth now. Ever since she went to heaven, I could feel that mom is always around me like whispering everything in my ears." I said to dad.
"I don't think Emma wants to marry me." Dad shakes his head.
"Oh come on, that woman is crazy about you since a long time ago. I mean, I have a hot handsome talented father." I grin at dad.
"Ah you." Dad laughs.
"And if you want to propose her, I'll be happy to support you and help you." I smile at dad.
"Thank you, sweet pea." Dad smiles back at me.
I smile and continue eating my ice cream. I feel so relief that I finally can say this to dad. I mean, everyone deserves to be happy include dad. And I know he is happy but he will be happy with marrying his love life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I knock on the door of Miss Pillsbury's office and make her turn her face at me. "Can I come in?" I ask her.
"Uh oh yeah sure. I didn't know why you want to come here because first that you already got accepted in Juilliard and second that you don't like me.." Miss Pillsbury says to me. "Have..have a seat."
"Okay." I nod and sit down in front of the desk. "There is something I want to ask you."
"Ugh crap. You probably want to ask about your dad and I right. Uh I knew I shouldn't hide things with Will." Miss Pillsbury shakes her head.
"Do you love daddy?" I ask her.
"Huh?" Miss Pillsbury turns her face at me nervously.
"Just be honest. I won't mad or storm out or anything." I said to her.
"Yes, I do." Miss Pillsbury nods.
"Do you want to take things forward?" I ask her.
"Aren't you supposed to be in choir room by now?" Miss Pillsbury giggles.
"Look, I just want dad to be happy and I can see that he is happy but he will be more happy if he is with you." I said to her.
"Your dad will always love your mom." She said to me.
"You and my mom are the love of his life." I said to her and get up. "I'm sorry for bothering your time, Miss Pillsbury, I just want you to consider to not leaving my father. And I'll try my best to like you." I said to her and walk out from her office.
I turn my way to the boys locker room. I don't know why coach Sue wanted all of us to meet there. Maybe for secret Glee club meeting.
"Hi." I smile at Sam.
"Hey." Sam smiles back at me and pats on the seat next to him. I sit down next to him and look around.
"Please ignore the stench of mildew and jock strap and focus your attention on the screen.
Porcelina?" Coach Sue says.
"Yesterday, I snuck into a Vocal Adrenaline rehearsal, and what I saw is not for the faint of heart. Lights." Kurt stands up and says to us.
"Why is this in black and white?" Sam frowns.
"Because I worship The Artist." Kurt simply said.
I lean my head on Sam's sleeve and look at to the video of Vocal Adrenaline having rehearsal with that Unique girl.
"Look at that. Unlike you misfit, ragtag stumblebums, each member of Vocal Adrenaline is in perfect sync. Not a step out of place." Coach Sue says to us.
"Okay, watch this closely, guys. It's called the Human Centipede. It's the newest, hardest show choir dance move ever invented. Incredible." Dad says as they showing some moves.
"That actually really doesn't look that hard." Blaine simply said.
"And the cherry on top of the Vocal Adrenaline sundae is their secret weapon, Unique. Look at him/her. Poised, confident. Pretty as a picture with a booty that won't quit. It's the Unique factor that gives Vocal Adrenaline its edge." Coach Sue says to us.
"Isn't Rachel our Unique factor?" Finn asks coach Sue.
"Not even close. I'm not saying that Mrs. Focker doesn't deserve a solo, but every show choir in the country has a little girl with a big nose." Coach Sue simply said.
I chuckle and cover my mouth with my hand. "Okay, Sue." Dad rolls his eyes.
"High school judges are proven idiots. They love props, and Unique is the ultimate prop." Coach Sue says to us.
"Do you seriously think that we need a guy to dress in drag to win?" Puck asks.
"No." Dad shakes his head.
"Yes." Coach Sue simply nods. "Unless.."
"Unless what?" Mercedes asks coach Sue.
"Unless William wants to let his Little Birdie perform using music instrumental on the stage. You guys are not better dancer than Vocal Adrenaline." Coach Sue says to us.
The others start turning their face at me. I raise my eyebrows and shake my head. I always try to be unnoticed so I won't get into anything.
"No. I can't do that." I shake my head.
"You are better than you think you are." Tina smiles at me.
"Heck, you're the only one person in this room who ever played in Carnegie Hall and got into Juilliard. Already." Blaine turns his face at me.
"And you got that killer voice." Mercedes says to me.
"Wait, so she will have the solo?" Rachel frowns.
"That's right." Coach Sue nods.
"But what about me? What about my solo? I really need this! Do you have any idea how important Nationals is to me? I mean, if I can convince Carmen Tibideaux to come and watch us perform, then it's basically like a do-over for my NYADA audition, which means that my entire future depends on us being amazing, which means that everyone needs to do their part!" Rachel protest.
I turn my face at her and close my eyes. I'm sick listening to her whimpering about getting solo every week. But I don't know if it's just a pity party for me or something.
"Are you just trying to throw a pity party for me?" I raise my eyebrows.
"No." Dad shakes his head. "Look, I just want you to come out from your comfort zone. You always trying to be unnoticed but now it's over." Dad says to me.
"Well, I can't." I shake my head.
"Great so I'm still going to have solo." Rachel grins.
"Nope. No solo this year." I shake my head and get up then walk to the front. "For some of us this year is their last competition. It's not fair that in their last competition they still have to sing backups for someone who gets solo. All I want is all of the seniors can get parts to sing their parts. And be upstage on that stage and having their spotlights." I said to them.
"What?! So I'm not going to have solo?" Rachel protest.
"You screwed up your audition. I got that and I'm sorry. But Tina was right yesterday, other people are matters. Just because you screwed up an audition you can got the solo. That's your business not us. Everyone has their own business. You kept worrying about your future but do you ever think that Puck and Brittany are even struggling with their exams? Don't be selfish!" I glare at Rachel.
"Well, then I'm not going to perform at Nationals." Rachel simply said.
"Sure. We're not going to stop you or beg you to not going. We still can won sectionals without you. There are still many voices in this club. There are a lot of amazing voices here. We don't need you but you make it seems like we need you the fact that you need us. So the door is open if you want to leave." I said to Rachel.
"Alright... So, Little Schuester already make her choice. Seniors, congratulations you got your parts." Coach Sue smiles at them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm walking down in the hallways holding my binder and about to get into the choir room until I see Rachel is standing in front of her locker.
"Hey, I want to apologize about what I said yesterday. It was totally out of the line and I'm sorry." I half smiled at Rachel.
"Why? I mean, all that stuff you said. I mean, you weren't wrong. Look, everyone is important, and I'm very sorry if I made you feel like a supernumerary. I'm sorry." Rachel half smiled back at me.
"Well, I was just upset. My dad kept telling me to go out from my comfort zones and still being pissed about my mom's dying and all." I sigh.
"You know I was being selfish because I was intimidated by your talent. You're the only one person in glee club who already performed in Carnegie Hall. Even you're one year away from graduation but you don't have to worry about college because you already got into Juilliard." Rachel says to me.
"But I actually love being unnoticed. Look we only have like two weeks left until graduation coming over and I just want to spend these last weeks with happiness." I said to her.
"Me too." Rachel smiles at me. "You know next year, you are the lead vocalist and the leader of glee club."
"Thank you." I smile back at her. "So you're coming to choir room?"
"Tina and I will skip it. We have to go to see Carmen Tibideux and meet her in person." Rachel says to me.
"Alright." I nod.
"Can I give you a hug? I promise it won't be long." Rachel smiles at me.
"Okay." I chuckle and hug her as she hugs me back. "I'll see you around." I smile at her and walk in the hallways. I walk into the choir room and sitting down next to Sam.
"Since Porcelain refuses to be a team player and dress up like a lady, we're gonna have to up our prop game. I've ordered 18 little people, one for each of you." Coach Sue says to us.
"Wait. Little people?" Dad frowns.
"Munchkins. I found 'em online, William. And don't worry, I got a mix of race and ethnicities so you can keep up with your little diversity charade." Coach Sue says to us.
"I can't dance with a little person. I can hardly walk." Quinn shakes her head.
"There's that can don't attitude, Quinn." Coach Sue says to Quinn.
"Sue, I think maybe we are going a little too far with the props. Let's just spend some time working on choreography for Dash Board." Dad says to coach Sue.
"Sure, if you want to lose." Coach Sue simply said.
"Puck?" Dad frowns as Puck walks in wearing a dress and blonde wig.
"Hello." Sugar says.
"My eyes are burning." Mercedes shakes her head.
"Look at those legs." Mike mumbles.
"I am strangely turned on right now." Santana simply said.
"Please only address me by my stage name Lola." Puck says to us.
"Puckerman, I respect your commitment to winning, but without a doubt, you are the ugliest woman I have ever seen. For a second there, I thought you were Beiste's sister." Coach Sue says to Puck.
"It's not about being pretty. It's about someone in here having the balls to do what he has to do to put us over the top." Puck says to us.
"Well, you know, if this is gonna work, you're gonna have to shave off all of your body hair." Coach Sue simply said.
"Enough! Sue, look, I really appreciate all the help you've been giving us but I am done with all this props madness. All we're doing for the next three hours is learning choreography for "Dash Board." Puck, go change." Dad says to all of us.
"You cannot see something like that." Artie says to Puck.
"William, I'm oddly aroused by your sudden forcefulness, and I will let you handle this rehearsal, however, I feel it necessary to warn you: I prepaid for the little people." Coach Sue says to dad.
I let out a sigh and roll my eyes. This is not even a week away from Nationals but these two already become frenemies again.
