The morning sun filtered gently through the tall windows of Silverfang’s estate, casting golden light across the stone floors. I sat at the long dining table, absentmindedly pushing a slice of toast across my plate. The kitchen staff moved quietly around me, Jenne occasionally whispering instructions to them like the loyal guard she was pretending not to be, and I was very thankful to her for that.
