There was a gentle knock on my door and I stared at it. I just sat there by the window and stared at it, not sure who it was. It didn’t sound like Jenne because I know how she knocks. Who would be knocking this early? I sighed and stared back at the window as the first signs of sunrise, not really wanting to speak to anyone, especially today. I wasn’t in my right mind to bother entertaining anyone. I let the silence settle into the space, carrying with it a lot of unspoken words that still haunted me. The knock came again, still light and soft and I sighed. I closed the book I had in my lap and made my way to the door, ready to tell whoever it was.
