Honestly, this isn’t the time for the boss to be distracted by any woman—especially her. Not when we just confirmed the lead he predicted. As he suspected, his brother and mother have officially reached out to our enemies. He was right all along.
But strangely, that betrayal doesn’t seem to weigh on him as much as that woman does.
He hasn’t realized it yet, but she’s already got her claws in him. She has Zayn—our boss—wrapped in her grip in a way no one ever has.
She’s going to slow him down.
And yet… I can’t say I hate it. Because when she’s around, he’s different—more alive. There’s a flicker of something close to happiness in his eyes. That alone makes me tolerate her presence.
