The forest was quiet as I walked back to the cottage, the sound of my footsteps muffled by the soft layer of leaves and dirt beneath me, as my feet clashed with the forest's floor.
The moon light filtered through the leaves of the trees that swayed in the cold night air. I had been gone for days, but now I was back, and I had news. Important news.
I could feel my heart beating hard in my chest as I made my way across underneath the forest's trees.
