We remain silent for a few moments until his tone of voice gets deeper and he asks:
“You’re really not going?”
“No... My life’s here. My family and friends. My boyfriend,” I say with a smile. “I cannot leave Danny, George. Not now that we are so well together.”
“You don’t need to leave him.”
“But keeping a long distance relationship?“ I grimace. “No way. And I wouldn’t be happy living by myself in a strange city. Far from everything and everybody.”
“And what did the people from New York say about that?”
“He said he wouldn’t accept my refusal now and that I have some time to think about it.”
George let’s out a long sigh.
“I know you’re facing a difficult choice, but you do need to think carefully not to regret it, since it is a one-time chance.” His voice softens. “Yes, we would be
