The trip was a long one, even with two Concorde segments, but at last I was ushered into the forbidding cement fortress of her father’s residence and shown to my richly appointed rooms. What a contrast! The outer appearance of the place was extremely plain, but within the walls, it was a delight to the eyes and senses.
