You never know

Part 11

           You all must be knowing that whenever we want the time to go fast, it goes slow. Actually not slow, very slow. Now currently I am lying on my bed waiting for the night to pass so that I can meet him tomorrow. Now you people must be thinking why I am not sleeping?

The answer to this question is I TRIED. I tried to sleep but could not because my mind was replaying all the incidents that happened in the evening. I still don't know if I like him or... I don't want to mention it but I hope you understood what I meant. I guess only time can tell me the answer to this question. With all these thoughts, I didn't realize that when I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm which didn't sound annoying anymore. Now I really wanted to dress up and go but then I thought that will be very over the top so I got ready, had my breakfast and left to work.

I reached the office and headed towards my desk. The whole ride I was anxious that how would things turn out now. Yesterday he clearly hinted me that he is interested in me but the main question here is WHAT NOW?

I came to my desk and unknowingly looked at HIS cabin. He was speaking to someone and writing something on a notepad. Not to stare at him, I thought to avert my eyes but before I could he looked up and smiled. Today there was something different in his smile which caused me to blush. I just gave him a shy smile and sat on my chair.

I was having a smile on my face as I could feel his intense stare on me but I didn't dare to look at him . Having enough of his stare I got up and went to Vihaan's cabin.

" How come you are remembering me today ?" Vihaan asked with a smirk on his face.

"Okay! So you think like that then I am going " I said and turned around to leave but not before seeing his face.

" Arre STOP! I was just kidding " He said and I turned around with a smirk on my face.

" I knew you were not going to leave " He muttered.

" I heard that, " I said giving him a fake stern look.

" That was the sole purpose " He mocked.

" Anyways what happened? " He asked and smirked. I narrated him all the things and gave him a grateful smile.

" Thank you Vihaan! " I said and he smiled.

" No problem! It's my duty to put sense in senseless people " He joked and laughed.

I am really grateful for having such people in my life !!!!!!

" Pagal ( MAD )" I said and left this cabin and dashed into somebody.

          As I left Vihaan's cabin I dashed into Neha who was in a rush to submit her report to Vihaan.

Now I know you must be wondering that Neha is Vihaan 's friend too then why she is in a hurry? Well to know your question, Vihaan is a good friend but when it comes to work; he considers everyone equal.  

                                             As my work is still pending, I got back to my work and started preparing the reports asked him. People who have had a crush on their classmates from school or college, I really salute them. They must be having a really strong concentration power to study even when their crush is in the same room and here I am, constantly getting distracted from my work and looking in his direction and you know what's the worst part in this? Every time I look up to see him as if he sensing my stare he also looks back and smirks.

                                 This is the  5th time when it is happening and that too just in an hour.  So having enough of his stare, I get up from my seat and go to his cabin all the while feeling his stare. I knock on the door and go inside after hearing a " YES".

 " Can you please stop doing that ?" I asked as soon as I entered his cabin. 

" What have I done Miss ?" HE asked in his deep voice with the most innocent expression but I could see a small smirk appearing on his face which he was trying to control. 

" Don't give me that innocent look !!! You are anything but innocent " I said and looked away but not before seeing him smile. 

" If you keep on doing this, I will change my seat !" I stated and looked at him to see his smile turning into a devilish smirk. 

" oh really miss but sorry to inform you that I have the authority to decide where you will sit and did you forget you were doing the same thing  ?" HE asked and I did not reply knowing my face was turning red because really he was stating the truth. 

" Cat caught your tongue huh " saying this he got up from his seat and started walking towards me. 

" I am not able to concentrate if you keep doing such things," I said in a low tone almost like a whisper when he stood in front of me. 

" Then I guess you should stop doing it yourself then " HE whispered back and went back to his seat. 

" OKAY " saying this I started walking towards the door when I heard him call me.

"YES," I said and looked at him. 

" Don't knock the door from next time?" HE said and I furrowed my eyebrows. 

I mean why would he say that ???????  

" You see we are friends now! " HE added and winked. As soon as he said this, a smile immediately came up on my face and I left his cabin but not before hearing him laugh.

 After coming out from his cabin, I got back to work. He was true to his words and did not disturb me even when I was looking at him little longer hoping that he would look back but he would just smile indicating that he was aware of my gaze.

Around lunchtime, Neha and Vihaan came to the desk to call me for lunch and I readily agreed because I was exhausted. So, we went to the canteen. As we ordered the food, Vihaan initiated the conversation by asking " So have done the report ?"

"Yes, I just have to submit the report to SIR," I said.

" Ohh nice," Vihaan said and smirked. i***t !!

" OHH speaking of which do you remember that from tomorrow you are not assisting him anymore? " Neha asked in a concerned voice whereas blood drained from my face.

I completely forgot that from tomorrow I will be back to my seat and I would not get to see him that often.

As Neha said this, We sat in silence. Neha was looking at me with a worried expression while Vihaan was smirking. That asshole!

" Why are you smiling like that? " I asked Vihaan in low voice.

" I am smiling because whatever you are thinking is not going to happen, " He said and smirked AGAIN

" How are you sure ?" I asked him in a bored tone.

" Well, I am sure because there is someone who is noticing you even when he is surrounded by people !" Vihaan said and winked at me. Hearing this I turned into a deep shade of red and immediately covered my face with my hands making Vihaan and Neha laugh. As their laughter subsided, I asked Vihaan to get up from his chair so that I can sit there to which he happily complied. As I sat on Vihaan's place, I directly saw HIM looking at me with a smile and drinking something. As Vihaan said, he was surrounded by few people who were discussing certain matters.

" Don't make it obvious Ananya " Neha said and I immediately averted my eyes from him.

"So now what happens ? will it be just staring each other ?" I asked Neha and Vihaan which made them smile like clowns.

" Why do you want to do something else ?" Vihaan said and Neha started laughing loudly.

" No no, I didn't mean that, " I said which made them more laugh.

" What's going on here ?" Aryan sir came and asked.

" Nothing sir ! she wants to do something, " Vihaan said and they both started laughing while I turned red in embarrassment.

" woh I .. actually .. " I was struggling to speak whereas he was looking at me expectantly and both the idiots were laughing their a*s off.

" sir actually I want to do something with my phone, " I said without looking at him and he was having an expression which said, " I know you are lying".

" OH REALLY, " both Vihaan and Neha asked in unison making me shut my eyes in embarrassment.

" Yes !" I chastised and glared at both of them.

" I have some work I will leave " saying this I immediately left the canteen without having lunch.
