My ex was dead. Iwan had told me that he had tortured Peter to death. Was it bothering me to realize that the man I was going to marry had cruelly tortured and murdered my ex? – No. Not in the least. No idea what that said about my character, but my ex was not a good man. He had abused innocent children and for that he had more than deserved what Iwan had done to him. Heavens, I had attended a three-hour torture session myself and had no nightmares about it. My point of view had changed since I knew Iwan. I would never be okay with innocent people being tortured or killed. But neither my pedophile ex nor the Italian scum had been innocent. My future husband might be a sadist and a killer, but he was not unnecessarily cruel. I could live with what he was.
