Viktor’s POV. Lila’s mansion sat on the quiet side of the hills, far enough from the city to avoid unnecessary eyes. The gates opened the moment my car approached. She had clearly given instructions for my arrival. I was led to a private lounge on the second floor. Dark furniture. Low lights. A single bottle of expensive whiskey already opened on the table. Lila stood near the window when I entered, wearing a fitted black dress that stopped above her knees. She looked composed, but there was something restless in her eyes. “You’re late,” she said. “I had other matters,” I replied, taking a seat. “Sit. Let’s talk.” She sat across from me and crossed her legs. For a few minutes we only discussed business. “Antonio moved three shipments through the southern docks last week,” she began.
