“What happened then?” asked Ponhpaiboon.
“I think something pulled my leg back. I don’ know what it is,” said Kalil.
But when they both looked back, they couldn’t see anything that might have caught up in his legs. Rather there weren’t even any bumps on the smooth ice surface.
“Kek,” a sound came from behind a pillar.
“Kekekekeke,” a man came out from behind a pillar, “You guys actually fell for our trap.” He then showed a string hanging from his hand.
Two more man came out from two more ice pillars.
“Dammit, I have got no time for this,” said Kalil.
“That case you go,” said Ponhpaiboon.
“Huh? You planning on fighting them alone?” asked Kalil.
“Yes,” said Ponhpaiboon.
“That is crazy! You can’t even run well. How are you going to fight?” asked Kalil.
“I had about 20 minutes of rest on your back,” said Ponhpaiboon, “That gave me back enough strength for me to be able to fight these guys.”
“Are you sure about this?” asked Kalil.
“I am not going to do this for free,” answered Ponhpaiboon.
“Huh? What do you want?” asked Kalil.
“In exchange you are going to take back the chains of team membership,” said Ponhpaiboon, “In exchange for my life, you forced me in your team and now in exchange for me fighting these guys, you will let me out of your team.”
“I guess you never liked being in my team,” said Kalil.
“I always prefer being solo,” said Ponhpaiboon.
Kalil gave a sad sigh and said, “I will leave you at that then.” He then started running towards where Khestri and the others are supposed to end up.
But one of them decided to chase Kalil. Ponhpaiboon threw a wheel kick at that person’s chin and he went down. He then stomped him on the throat using the blade of his foot.
“Only three more left,” said Ponhpaiboon.
“This old man is dangerous,” said one of the members.
“Attack him without underestimating him,” said another.
They all began running towards Ponhpaiboon. He noticed that one of the opponents had iron gloves.
“Must another specialized weapons. Can’t underestimate these,” said Ponhpaiboon.
He started running towards the enemies too. The enemy directly in front of him jumped for a superman punch. Ponhpaiboon side stepped and sprung back for a cross to the solar plexus.
The opponent fell out of breath.
The other three stood circling Ponhpaiboon.
“The iron gloves man is still standing,” thought Ponhpaiboon.
They all attempted for an all out attack but Ponhpaiboon threw a wheel kick causing all of them to retreat a step.
But suddenly the two of them jumped back when they saw the iron gloved man give a signal. Ponhpaiboon followed those two too as if he was also a part of the signal.
The iron gloved man threw a punch to the ground which cracked the ice around him. He then slowly walked out of the circle he created.
“That was brilliant of you Mr. Old man. I would really like to know your name,” he said.
“I am Ponhpaiboon,” answered Ponhpaiboon.
“Well that’s a rather hard name to memorize. And I am Heavon”, said the iron gloved man.
“I never said I was interested in your name,” said Ponhpaiboon.
“Ahem,” said Heavon, “Well my plan was to c***k the ice and when that happens the persons inside the c***k can’t move properly. They can save themselves by slowly walking out. And if I performed the strategy correctly the ones inside the c***k would have been the two of us. And the other two would have prevented you from escaping when you would try to escape.”
“Thank you for explaining the strategy so well and also showing me what those iron gloves do,” answered Ponhpaiboon, “Any other information you would like to give off?”
Everyone stared at him in awkward silence.
“He’s not wrong to be honest,” said one of them.
“I guess Heavon’s dumber than we thought,” said another.
“Well less talk more fight,” said Heavon while clashing the two gloves together which created a loud screeching sound. It destroyed many of the ice pillars, created a big c***k on the ground throwing Ponhpaiboon and his own teammate off balance and making himself fall under the freezing water.
“Well that was something intense,” said Ponhpaiboon, “Totally an odd time to commit suicide. Any one else from among you interested in committing suicide? Would decrease my work a bit.”
“No, you are gonna have to face this trouble head on,” they said.
The opponent who received a hit on the solar plexus recovered his breath and now face to face standing against Ponhpaiboon. The two others surrounded him too.
Ponhpaiboon rushed at one of them to throw a jumping knee. He leaned back but Ponhpaiboon landed with an overhand right on temple, slamming him on the ice which broke the ice and threw him underwater.
“Huff… Huff… I need to stop these long ranged moves,” thought Ponhpaiboon, “I guess I need to be energy conservative with this fight.”
The other two came rushing towards Ponhpaiboon. Ponhpaiboon stayed on his spot. One of threw a big haymaker punch. Ponhpaiboon threw an elbow at the forearm causing to break the radius bone of the opponent.
The other jumped towards Ponhpaiboon and performed a double leg takedown. Ponhpaiboon fell down on the ground. Unfortunately, Muay Thai doesn’t have any offense or defense on ground.
Ponhpaiboon had to rely on his instincts as a fighter to parry the attacks and attack back while his enemy was mounting on him. He did more harm than expected for someone who doesn’t practice ground fighting. But he was receiving a lot of hits on his head too, his left eye already swollen and his right ear turned red.
At last Ponhpaiboon clinched him somehow and side rolled together to exchange position but instead of continuing ground fighting, even though he was in an advantageous position, he had to get up to his usual fighting stance.
That is when suddenly someone struck on his ribs, the one Kalil already damaged. He could not only feel but also hear the sound of it shattering.
He was thrown back by the punch till his back hit an ice pillar. He was starting to succumb to the pain. The exhaustion from Kalil’s fight, the hits in the head on ground, and now his ribs, all of them collectively made him realize he is unable to fight anymore.
As he used the pillar on his back to support him, he looked through the blurry vision where the attack came from that blasted his ribs. He saw Heavon walking towards him with his iron gloves hanging beside his waist. Three of the other fighters followed him.
“Sorry, I keep forgetting the reaction that the iron gloves give whenever I clash them together,” said Heavon.
But at that tense moment Ponhpaiboon could only hear the sound of his old panting breath as he began to worry about his stamina reaching near the end too.
As Heavon reached near him, the old master’s senses began to peak as it would for any real fighter standing against a threat. Heavon threw his attack. The old man slid to the side and it completely shattered the enormous ice pillar letting them realize how dangerous Heavon is as he grinned towards Ponhpaiboon as if declaring his hopeless defeat.
But Ponhpaiboon noticed a strange stare of amazement from his opponents standing behind Heavon.
