Isla’s POV “Max? What is wrong with you?” I gasped at him taking a step back, unable to hide the hurt that was eating away at me. It was a horrible feeling, one that he had never made me experience before. I saw his eyes return to normal and his face softened as he smiled and reached out for me. “I’m sorry Isla. I am just exhausted and should not have taken it out on you. Let’s go up to the pack house and we can talk. I have missed you.” He said and I just refused to allow him to touch me even though every inch of my body was screaming out to let him. I was annoyed that he had spoken to me in that way. Like I was nothing. It reminded me to much of how Miller used to talk to me when I found out he was my mate. “I’m going to check on Mora and the baby and see if there’s any news
