Brandy’s POV I lie in the middle of my bed, pillows propped up behind me as I stare at the messages between Kane and I. The glow from my cell phone is the only light in the room, casting an eerie glow around me as my gaze skims over every line of text. I can feel Kane’s worry through his words, his concern that I was sick. My chest tightens as I read again his offer to come over, to take care of me.
