Mysterious Day Off [part 2]: New ally?

The letters suddenly loss their colour and returned to the wall. 

“Did I do something wrong?” I questioned. “No answer? Didn’t expect one to be honest” I said with a sigh at the end. Today just isn’t my day. 

I decided to go to the gym. Seeing as a man was already in there I didn’t want to enter but ended up doing so. After stretching and wrapping my hands I walked over to a bag to start punching it. The bags here were very hard. It didn’t even feel like sand. After 5-6 minutes of attacking the bag non-stop I went for a break. I looked over where the man was and damn. He’s a different breed. Just look at his build. I’m completely drooling on the floor for him and I don’t even know his name. I highly doubt he needed to take his shirt off but I weren’t and aren’t going to tell him to put it back on. I’m enjoying the view. 

I was lost staring at him until he looked back making me divert my eyes. 

“Well that was embarrassing” I said to myself then shaking my head. I practised a few kicks I don’t like and aren’t great at before returning to the bags. I was thinking of my brothers death; it got me mad for some reason so I was now hitting to bag faster and harder. My whole body started to heat up and my eyes were burning again. The last time it hurt this bad was in Skeletor’s realm. All I could seem to do now was punch. I felt a hand being placed on my shoulder. I harshly shrugged it off. I felt bad because I’m sure whoever it is, was just trying to help but my mind is telling me to be angry. Angry at myself, my brother, the administrator. At the whole world.

“Calm down” I heard a voice say. The person proceeded to turn my whole body around causing me to punch them in their face then stomach. My vision was very blurry so all I could make out was it’s a man.

“GO AWAY” I shouted in fear for the persons safety because I couldn’t stop hitting him even if I tried, so things could get messier than they already are. 

A tear slipped out my eye when they didn’t listen. “please” I said nearly un audible. Just as I was about to throw another punch the guy grabbed both my hands.

“Val” Just hearing hearing that made all the anger leave me body and fell. Before I touched the ground he caught me. I know I keep telling myself only Felix can call me Val but something about this guy just made me feel safe and so calm. My version started to return to normal but just as I was about to see who he was I blacked out.

As soon as my eyes flickered open, my head felt as if someone was banging a hammer on it from the inside. I held my head knowing it would do absolutely nothing. I noticed I wasn’t in the gym; I wasn’t even in my own room. The hell happened? Oh right I passed out. I was thinking over what happened until I heard the door click open. I shuffled back when the same man from the gym entered, earning a chuckle. 

“I don’t bite” He said with a smile

“Well I do” I replied. Not that I’m scared of him, I just don’t know his intentions so I’m a bit in the edge. He seems friendly tho.

“I’m sure you do” He wiped blood off his lips. I remembered punching him in the face multiple times.

“I’m so sorry about that” I lowered my head. “I don’t know what came over me” I hope he doesn’t see me as a maniac.

“Don’t worry about it. How are you?” He’s asking about me when i just ruined his face? So kind.

“My head hurts but it’s not much compared to what I did to you. Again I’m sorry” My head was still low so I couldn’t see him that well.

“Stop apologising it’s okay” I looked up at him and smiled as a thank you.

“If you don’t mind me asking how’d you know my name?” He laughed a little.

“It’s hard not to know with the whole school talking about you”

“The whole school’s talking about me?”

“You didn’t know? They were already talking when you brought out that beast of yours but even more when you defeated those 4 boys” I don’t know if I should be happy or angry that people are talking about me? Like is it gossip?

“Boys? I like you already” He smiled. “I don’t think I’ve seen you around here what’s your name since you clearly know mine” We both chuckled.

“I should be the one saying that to you”

“I have a photographic memory so If I’ve seen you  I would’ve remembered”

“Well then let me introduce myself. My name is Angelo. I’m in the Phoenix house, just like you, and I am best friends with” He looked on the floor before lifting his head. I could see pain in his eyes. Why? “With Felix” He said with the wildest smile despite the sad topic. I immediately looked up. He may have tried to hide the fact he’s hurt but I could see it in his eyes. I was getting tears but I have to be strong for him and Felix so I smiled as well.

“I’m Valarie. Valarie Evergreen” My smile turns into a proud one. “Nice to meet you” I said holding out my hand for him.

“Nice to meet you too” He shook my hand. “Does your head still hurt?”

“Surprisingly n-“ I couldn’t finish my sentence because my head started throbbing even worse than before. I placed both my hands near my ears as I heard voices saying things I couldn’t even understand. 

“Ang-“ He put a finger to his lip to tell me to be quiet before placing his hand on my forehead. He kept quiet but made some sort of sign with his other hand and all the pain stopped. The voices too. He must think I’m going mad but I can’t tell him anything. I was about to ask how he did that but he beat me to it.

“WAY too long to explain but are you okay now?”

“Yes thank you. Not that I don’t appreciate it but why are you so nice even though we just met?” He sighed 

“Just something I’m doing for a friend” For a friend I thought. “You know Felix tells me all about you. He always has your name in his mouth. In a good way” I laughed. I also noticed how he referred to Felix as if he was still here but that didn’t make me think he doesn’t know he’s gone. He’s just in...................denial. 

“You should know Felix tells me everything so I know about your situation” My eyes widened. Just how many people did he tell.

“I guess if he trusted” I put my hand over my mouth before removing it immediately to correct myself “I guess if he trusts you so do I but I still don’t know where I am”

“Oh right, this is my room” I nodded and then realised something.

“Are you crazy? I can’t be here, it’s breaking rules. Your room is really nice tho” I looked around.

“Thanks but don’t worry about it. It’s built specifically for me so no one can enter without my thumb,face and power recognition. We’ll be fine” My mouth opened wide.

“Wow that’s so cool. How come my shared room with Felix doesn’t have that?”

“Well you see only me and the Elie team have them. Actually Felix’s original room has it but they didn’t have time to install it for the pair of you” He replied. While I looked around I noticed a weird device that had a red dot that sparked every 2 seconds. Are they watching him too? But why? I wasn’t going to make any mistakes so I mind linked him.

‘Or they just didn’t want to’ Angelo raised an eyebrow. ‘Well Felix tells you everything right?’ He hummed ‘So you must know about the sketchy a-” He slightly moved his head right to left, his confusion now replaced with seriousness so I stopped talking.

‘Not here’ He said walking over to a wall.

‘Wait i***t’ He stopped. I looked at the object and crushed it with my telekinesis so it made it look like an accident. I scanned the room and did the same to the others before nodding to him. He pressed the wall and it said open travelling a stair way. I followed him in and it closed behind us. It took us about 1 minute to reach the bottom and when we did he flicked a switch on. All the lights came on and I was amazed. It was like a research lab and an arena combined. I could tell the technology here was very high. We walked over to a table and sat down. In front of us was a bird with red string all across it likely connecting them to the images that were also on there. We had been in silence the whole way here so hi voice startled me a bit.

“I wasn’t sure how much your brother told you but NEVER speak of that outside these walls” I was a bit scared of this new side of Angelo so I nodded unable to speak.

“And what did you break in my room?”

“Oh you know just CAMERAS. How they hell didn’t you notice them?”

“s**t. The only time they’ve ever came in my room to my notice was this morning so they must’ve had them installed then”

“You too?”

“Huh they had them installed in your room aswell?”

“Yeah. I was having a mind link conversation with the twins of our house and someone tried to breach it so we signed the rest of it. I heard a knock on the door so I turned the boys invisible”

“Boys? Your braking rules as well baby”

I rolled my eyes and ignored the fact he called me baby.

“Anyways I didn’t even say the person could come but the administration walked right in. He was looking around suspiciously like Fast forward I noticed he placed something on my door when he left. I checked it and it was a camera. I kinda get why they would want to watch me but why you? And what the hell is all this?” I said pointing to the board.

“They’re probably watching me because now that Felix is on a trip I’m one of his closest friends” I looked at him softly because he’s still denying it but I don’t want to break him. “Me and Felix have been doing a lot of research about the administrator and none of it’s good news” He got out of his seat and stood next to the board. “What we know is...”

It’s been about 6 hours since Angelo started explaining and it was all a lot to take in. This school has more dark roots than anyone knows.

“So to sum that all up, the Elite 7 aren’t the strongest because there’s a higher group of 9 people who we don’t know of. The administrator doesn’t actually run this school but a person within the shadows does. This school is built on the same land all children X-menti were killed. There’s more than 27 levels of this place but we aren’t allowed nor do we know how to get lower. There are camera’s everywhere except the obvious, peoples rooms and the school toilets. The zones where you can’t use your power aren’t there to stop fights but drain your energy instead. Lastly something big is coming. Uncertain but big. We don’t know what it is but it could put all our lives at risk right?”

“Exactly. We have to be careful Val” He called me Val again but I had no problem with it. I wasn’t even getting mad so I didn’t say anything. “You have to be careful” 

“Wait they know I’m here because you carried me”

“Actually when you passed out you turned invisible in my arms. You were still like that when I left you in my room until I came back. Technically you’re still invisible because when you touched me it allowed you to become visible to my eyes”

“I knew something felt off” I turned myself back to normal. “What time is it?” He checked his wrist watch.

“1:10 why? You need to be somewhere?”

“No just seeing if we had time”

“Time for what?” I miles before grabbing his arm and dragging him up the stairs.

“To have fun duh”
