Valerie POV
*Falsh back* {Skeletor as narrator}
One evening, where the moon shone it’s brightest, a young woman entered a fighting competition that you’re father held. He said he would fight the winner which so happened to be the young woman. However she came dressed as a man because it was thought that only men could fight and no females were allowed in the competition for their own safety. The woman put up such a great fight she had the whole stadium shocked but your father won regardless. The crowd had gone home and only the two remained. The woman was about to leave but you’re father gently grabbed her wrist. “Young lady wait” She turned around
“H- how did you know? I- I mean I’m a man not a lady” You’re father actually already knew from the beginning of the fight she was a woman so had pulled his punches.
“No need to lie anymore” He said after shrugging his shoulders. He then pulled down the hood that covered her face. What he saw under the hood mesmerised him. The most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Long white hair draped from her shoulders to her ankles. White eyes glistening so much he saw his own reflection in them.
“Uh- um- it’s not what it looks likes” She said as you’re father came up with quite the childish plan.
“Oh but it is. You directly disregarded a rule I had put in place. That could be seen as treason could it not?” He said with a smile at the end.
“Treason? And what the hell are you smiling at? If only you did that in our match. I would’ve wiped it off your face with a punch”
“And I though you committing treason was enough but no. You had to go the extra mile and threaten me. What’s with the informalities as well? Are you not going to refer to me as ‘your highness’?” He said, recieving a scoff from the lady.
“Why should I? You haven’t earned my respect” You’re dad was now thinking of ways to get closer to her. Not in a creepy way obviously.
“Earned respect? Well how can I if you won’t give me a chance?” He said making the woman raise one eyebrow.
“I wouldn’t want to give respect to someone weak”
“Weak? I don’t remember you actually even coming close to scratching me darling but you know some people just go crazy after seeing me. Crazy in love”
“Trust me no one here loves you. Clearly not whoever made you. I’d they did they wouldn’t have given you a face as ugly as that” She said. Your dad placed a hand on his heart.
“Ouch that’s hurt I’m not a mirror tho”
“Mirror? What do you me- wait how dare you” The woman said making your dad laugh.
“Sorry about that but all jokes aside would you like to maybe be my friend? You don’t have to but it’s boring all alone in my palace. I could really use a friend and you seem like the perfect person to fit that role. You’re really beautiful too if you don’t mind me saying” She looked down as her cheeks started to burn up a bit.
“Th- th- thank you. You’re no- not too bad yourself” She stuttered.
“Aw look at you all shy. Are you embarrassed?” He said causing her to immediately raise her head.
“I- I’m n- n- not embarrassed” She spoke with a hint of anger in her voice.
“You’re cheeks are telling me something else” She quickly put her hood on to conceal her face.
“Don’t hide your face. It’s pre-“ He said before hearing a horn being blown. “Looks like I have to go. You’re welcome into my palace anytime you want. Stay safe until then” He then ran back to his home leaving the young women with a completely red face and a big smile to boot. From then onwards she came to see your dad almost everyday and there friendship continued to grow into love until they were finally married. Together the two of them led their people greatly until the final day.
*End of flashback*
I slowly took in the whole story and it finally hit me.
“Wait. So then that woman is-“
“Yes, she’s your mother”
“Oh wow. That’s honestly the best love story I’ve ever heard. And it’s of my parents. They really did seem like great people” I started to get a bit emotional.
“I’m sorry I’m restricted from telling you anymore”
“No don’t be. Thank you for all this. It’s the closest I’ll ever get to meeting my parents. Actually if my parents were King and Queen doesn’t that mean I’m royalty?”
“Sadly” It said rolling it’s eyes.
“Yeah yeah whatever”
“What’s with the attitude? Get rid of it when speaking to me”
“Okay sir” I said, in defeat, with a sigh at the end.
“Sir?” I mentally slapped myself.
“Sorry it’s a habit. I didn’t offend you did I?
“No but why refers to me as a male? I could be female for all you know”
“That means you are then right?” He nodded his head. “You see the scales that run down the middle of your head?”
“What about them?”
“They go up instead of down. I read somewhere that’s how to differentiate male and female dragons but you’re not a dragon are you? More of a......hm....how should I say this? Phoenix? Heck they aren’t even real right” I laughed.
“I mean if I’m not real then yeah” My mouth opened ajar in shock before closing to speak.
“You can’t be for real? Phoenix? That’s my favourite mystical creature. Or so I though. You aren’t playing around are you?” He chuckled.
“Wouldn’t dream of it” He said before getting up as he had been sitting all this time. He extended his wings out which send a wave shock pushing me at least 50 metres back. I watched in amazement as he flew around before landing next to me.
“You really are real”
“I know. Tell me young one, how did you even get here? No one has ever entered this realm. Other than the mishirano hito Felix”
“Felix evergreen? That’s my brother. Not biologically tho”
“He is? That Felix is powerful. The strongest man, other than your father, I have ever seen. So did he bring you here?” I tried to remember what happened before I got here.
“Ah yes. Well no but I felt a sudden build up of power in my body and I wasn’t in control. I heard Felix chanting something and before I knew it I was here”
“So your powers have decided to finally show up huh? This may be a year earlier than anticipated but young lady, I’m afraid you’ll have to stay with me for 2 months”
“2 WHOLE MONTHS? What about school? What about Felix? What about aunt? Who’s going to look after my real body?”
“Don’t worry about all that. 2 months here is equivalent to only 2 days in the outside world. So you won’t miss much” I sighed in relief before smiling because this could be a good holiday for me. “And don’t you dare think these 2 months are going to be a holiday” My smile immediately dropped.
“Wh- what do you mean?”
“You’re going to be training constantly. I can tell just by looking at you that the current state you’re in witn be enough to control the power your parent passed on to you. If the vessel isn’t strong enough the power will rip it apart from the inside and it’ll die. Don’t take this as a joke” I gulped.
“I’m going to transform you young one. You won’t even know who the current you are when I’m done with you” I was honestly started to rethink this but I have to get stronger if what he says is true.
“Um I did tell you my name didn’t I? Why do you keep referring to me as anything else but my name?”
“You have to earn it” He simply said before turning around and leaving. I quickly ran after him as he was starting to disappear in the dark. The room was still pitch black. I don’t even think it’s a room
“YAH WAIT UP” I shouted.
