Mysterious Day Off [Part 1]: Chats

I woke up and got ready for my second day in this now hell hole. I was really excited to be here until what happened to my brother. I walked into the hall and stood in line. Once everyone got here sir started to speak. 

“We will have no lessons or anything today” Everyone was happy and smiling but I knew why we weren’t going to do anything today. “Silence everyone you shall not mock the death of the Elite 7” Once he said this the students were either crying or just quite. Some of them looked at me with sorrow. “They all unfortunately passed away this morning during a very dangerous mission” This morning? They died yesterday so why was he lying? It’s also impossible for him to have not know because the headmaster was with all 7 of them before they left. Felix did tell me to keep an eye out for him. Was their possibly another reason to this 1 day break? Well whatever it is I’m going to find out. Before we were dismissed I mind linked the twins, Felix was on about, to come to my room. They were boys so we were breaking one of the 5 rules but I’ve gone through a lot in only 1 day to care. When we got into the room I tried talking to them but quickly picked up on the fact one was deaf, the other blind so we sat in a circle to hold hands and mind linked.

‘Hi Valarie it’s nice to finally meet you. I’m Thoth, the blind one’

‘Nice to meet you as-well’

‘I’m Amun-Ra , the deaf one. Just call me me Amun’

‘Alright Thoth and Amun, I assume you both know why I called you here?’

‘Yes we’re fully aware’ Amun said, taking charge. ‘Your brother trusted us with everything. So it’s only right we trust you with everything. This is all the information your brother gathered about the headmaster’ He started before going on to explain briefly all my brother and worked on while he was here. All of it was to find out what happened to my parents. He really cared this much? My eyes got watery because of it.

‘So since it’s near the end of June we have roughly 5 months till ‘The Devastation’ happens? They both nodded but I was still confused. ‘What the hell is ‘The Devastation’? I questioned.

‘Like Amun said, we don’t know but we’re ready to lay down our lives and help you’ I smiled at the kind words

‘I appreciate it Thoth but NO ONE is going to die on my account’ I felt someone try to breach the mind link so I disconnected it. Who ever it was must know all three of us are together so everyone at the Hall is a suspect. I couldn’t risk anything so we signed the rest of the conversation and closed our minds so no one could read them. Did Felix have me learn sign language to talk to these people? So he’s known his fate for quite some time then. I kept reciting his last chant to see if it would give me any clues and then it hit me. His first clue was ‘Where the sun sets East on the day of death, X finds its spot’. The day of death? What is that? I had no clue until I remembered what I had read from the last book Felix gave me. None of it concerned school so I didn’t ask him about anything. It said on the last page The Day of Death was a festive held on the 5th August every year. I told this to the boys. They were about to say something until someone knocked at my door. I panicked a bit because boys and girls aren’t allowed in the same dorm. I quickly touched the twins to make them visible and touchable to me only. Just then the door opened.

“I don’t mean to be rude but I don’t remember giving you permission to enter” I said as the headmaster walked in with eyes wandering the place like he was looking for something.

“You didn’t? My old age must be affecting my ears” Old age? The man was only in his 50s from what I could tell.

“Well what have you come to inform me of?” I asked in a rush to get him out.

“My condolences to you and your family. That’s all” He said before walking to the door and placing something on the nob. I waited till he left to pick it up and check it.

“A camera? The hell” I crushed it in my hand. There’s DEFINITELY something up with the headmaster. He didn’t come here to console me at all. He must’ve been the one who tried to break into the conversation then came here to get me in trouble but left once he saw no one was here. I kept the boys invisible for another 3 minutes allowing them to reach their rooms unnoticed. I jumped onto Felix’s bed and ,for no specific reason, looked around the room. Noticing very very small handwriting on the wall I got up so I could inspect it further. Tracing the words with my hand I read them in my head just to be safe.

‘You seek knowledge, we shall share. You seek power, we shall give. You seek help, we shall lend a hand. If you are the chosen one, we will know’ I was thinking for so long. What does it mean? Chosen one? 

“Wait didn’t Felix say something about writings on a wall?” I whispered. As I was about to read what was written again, someone nocked on the door. I closed my eyes and let my feet feel the vibrations. What the hell are 4 people doing at my dorm. 

“Come in” They all walked in one after another. It was Tyson and the other 3 dudes who fought me. Well 1 of them forfeited and the other surrendered mid match.

“What do you want I’m not in the mood” I really wasn’t. My brother had just died yesterday, the headmaster came in here looking hella suspicious and I was just about to possible find something ground breaking. Mike stepped forward and spoke

“y- yo- you” Is he serious?

“Spit it out I don’t have time” I said a bit frustrated now. Jason pushed Mike out of the way to speak.

“What he’s trying to say is since you won the matches we are at your service for the whole day today” Oh s**t I forgot about that. What the hell am I supposed to do make them my butlers? I looked at jack who had his head hung low. I saw a tear drop onto the floor. Is he crying? 

My brother wasn’t the only one who lost his life so maybe he was close to one of the Elite 7.

“Jack?” The guy quickly wiped his face and lifted his head.

“Yes?”

“Today’s a sad day for us all. I don’t know who you lost if you even have lost anyone but I want you to just go and rest” 

“Really? But you won. I have to do my punishment” Uh what isn’t this guy getting.

“Okay I order you to rest for the whole day” He was about to say something but shut himself up and thanked me before leaving. “As of the three of you, just help people in need and don’t be d***s all the time” I smiled which they returned. “We could be friends you know“ I said not expecting them to actually agree.

“I know we didn’t get off on the right foot but I’d love to be your friend if that’s alright” I nodded at Jason before turning to Tyson.

“You aswell Tye” I mentally cursed because I accidentally called Tyson the nickname I always used when talking to Felix about him. He raised an eyebrow. I pushed the three of them out and closed the door so he couldn’t say anything. I returned to the wall and placed my hand over the writing. “You seek knowledge, we shall share. You seek power, we shall give. You seek help, we shall lend a hand. If you are the chosen one, we will know” Some letters turned different colours and came of the wall. I repeated the chant until they were all now floating around me.
