Levi
I was so screwed. I definitely was. I didn’t know what was gotten into my mind but the moment Eden said she would do anything for me, that triggered something inside of me. Something raw and quite frankly, dangerous and forbidden. I didn’t know why but maybe the effect of her losing her memories so she let her guard down too much. She was attached to me because she only knew me. And she didn’t even know what of her. Was this innocent play her signature move? To let the men guard down? Was that how she seduced men from their dreams? Forgive me, but her looks didn’t scream one at all.
However, Eden in her innocent mode was such a turn-on to me.
Now, I was with her, at the store, buying undergarments for her. I let her choose whatever she wanted and call me when she was about to pay. Bra and panties had never been my kink but I felt like a different person when Eden was involved. This was f*****g ridiculous! I only knew that girl for a week, not a decade. But I couldn’t help my dirty head to picture Eden in her sexy lingerie, preferably black, showing her perfect curves in front of me. Mind you, I knew she had those perfect bodies women died for. I had suspected just by having my foot inside of this godforsaken store, I was doomed. I was imagining Eden with tears in her beautiful forest orbs, the pool of tears like the river streaming gently in the middle of the forest while her sexy and pouty red lips moaned my name. Her panties were so wet I had to take them off and see for myself if she was indeed the naughty girl who couldn’t help herself. For f**k’s sake!
“Um, Levi?” And her voice entered my ears as I turned to Eden standing at the entrance, her hand holding the door, saying, “I’m done.”
“Oh, okay.” Coughing, I pulled out my wallet and grabbed my black card. Telling her the pin and she took it with her. Eden returned to the store; a realization hit me. Wait. Did she know how to use a credit card before? Oh, for God’s sake! She could’ve mentioned the numbers to them! “s**t!” I stormed inside the store and found her still on the counter. Eden saw me immediately. “Wrong pin, sorry.”
“Okay.” I glanced at the garments Eden had chosen. Mostly normal. Normal to be worn on this regular day. I was hoping I wouldn’t think of anything even though they were just normal underwear.
“Did you have fun here?” I asked.
“Not really but at least I could choose something.”
“Great.” I entered the pin and settled the bill. Next stop, clothes. We walked out of the store and headed to a different one.
Until Eden asked, “Are we going to buy more?”
“Yes, we are. Why?”
“But we’re riding a bike.” Oh, right.
“Well, we can ask the store first if they could deliver everything.”
“Oh, okay.” We strolled inside the store and I immediately instructed the lady to grab everything Eden needed. I sat down on the couch and pulled out my phone. Checking the group chat between me and my family. Children only, of course. I hadn’t checked anything today.
Kai: Hey, brother! Heard from Miguel you’re going to have another concert.
Well, Miguel and Kai were cool. Kai was like a magnet for friends. Unlike Athena, he was very friendly practically to everybody. That’s why he was quite popular back in our high school days.
Levi: We are. Sorry for not telling you guys soon.
Because my mind was too focusing on Eden. Should I let them know about her? I mean, there was nothing to hide. It was not like I was hiding something dangerous that could potentially harm me. Maybe she could once she got her memories back. The problem was this woman didn’t even remember everything about her. At least remember that she was a demon. But no. She remembered nothing. Once again, like my mother’s taught had been encrypted in my mind, I couldn’t leave her alone. I might be sleeping around but I was no asshole. Except for Athena.
Cilla: We’ll be there.
I smiled at her message. Of course, they would. They always were. I told them when it would be and I would get the tickets for all of them. VIP as usual. Flicking my eyes to Eden who had gone to the changing room, maybe I should get another one for her too. Or maybe not? Was by leaving her alone in my house a good idea? Maybe she could recall her memories back when she was alone. Or maybe taking her outside would spike something. I should think about it.
Stuffing my phone back into my pocket, I gazed out. My eyes found a flower store across the place. Flowers. Catapulting me back to when Eden received the Easter Lilies. How her cheeks flushed, her green eyes sparkled like a forest came to life and fireflies flew out of the forest. She was enchanting and quite honestly, I couldn’t look away. Seeing her so magically happy with a bouquet. Well, I did that because I thought that would make her happy. Besides, no one was doing it for her because she practically lost. A lost woman. A lost demon. Poor her. I wonder if there would be any demons looking for her. I heard nothing about some kind of demon invasion down there. Uncle Lucifer always updated everything to the guys when I coincidentally listened. I knew all of them were aware of me there eavesdropping on them. Oh, well. Maybe she was just a random demon who was in a fight with someone and she lost.
I stood up and headed to the changing room, seeing the store lady waiting outside of the closed curtain. Eden must be inside. “Can you tell her if she’s looking for me, I’m right across this store?” I asked her.
“Certainly, sir.”
I headed to the flower shop. Immediately being sprayed by the perfume of flowers. “Welcome,” a florist with blonde hair approached me. Wearing a white t-shirt with a brown apron. “What kind of flowers are you looking for?”
“I have no idea,” I said. That was the truth though.
The woman smiled without any sign to seduce me and asked, “Is it for your girlfriend?”
“No. Just a friend, but she’s a girl.”
She giggled. The hell? “Is there any special occasion?”
“She’s just discharged from the hospital.”
“Ah, okay.” The blonde lady looked around the flowers. What the f**k was I doing? I just gave her flowers before we took off. I didn’t understand myself anymore. “How about this one?” she suggested and I looked at the flowers in her hands.
“What flowers are those?”
“Daisies. Most of our customers picked these for their friends in the hospital.”
“I’ll take them.”
“Certainly. Would you like to write a card for her?”
“No, she’s over there.”
“Okay! What a lovely friend you are buying flowers for her. And a lucky woman.” I only smirked and waited for the flowers. I sat down as my eyes found a flower arrangement's class paper displayed on top of the register table. A class. Eden said she wanted to do anything for me and I could see she was uncomfortable I bought a lot for her. Did she want a job?
When the blonde lady came back, I stood up to the register. I asked, “Is there any class here too?”
“There is, four days a week for the beginner. Is this friend of yours interested?”
“I don’t know yet. Can I get a flyer for this?”
“Sure.” I paid for the bouquet as I grabbed it, thanking the lady as I walked out.
Heading back to the store, I saw Eden sitting on the couch. She was finished. Feeling my presence, she looked up and her eyes found the flower. She smiled and stood up. “Are you done?”
“Yes. They said they can deliver the clothes today.”
“Awesome. Here,” I handed the daisies to her.
“Oh, what are these?”
“Daisies.”
“They’re so colorful. I love them.” She smelled them. “Thank you, Levi.” I only smiled and paid for the clothes. Arranging the address and everything before we got out.
Okay. Clothes done. Undergarments done. What else? Oh, right.
“Phone. You should at least have one so if I have to go out or you want to, we both know where we are.”
“Okay.” We entered the Apple store. I bought her the newest iPhone. The night had set once we got out of the mall.
“We should go home now. I should probably order a take-out for dinner. Do you need something else?”
“No. You’ve bought a lot for me, Levi. They’re enough,” she said.
“Well, if you still need anything, let me know.”
“Will you continue buying things for me?” What kind of a question was that? For sure, because she didn’t have any money now, I was the one who supported her financially.
“Eden, I told you it’s okay. I want to do this for you. Even if you want a job, no one would accept anyone without an identity card,” I told her and her face dropped, almost like she never thought of that. Of course. But s**t, what was this ridiculous pang on my heart? I didn’t like seeing her in this state. Just smile. Smile like when you received the bouquet. This was absolutely f*****g ridiculous. “Look, I’m sorry I have to tell you that but it’s the truth.”
Eden shook her head. “You’re right. I can’t exactly do anything now and it confuses me even more what I can do for you.” Oh, not those words again.
As we reached my bike, I spun to Eden. “Stop saying you need to repay me. Because you’re not owing to me anything, okay?”
“You’re the one who saved me,” she countered.
“How many times have I told you I didn’t save you? I found you, okay? And I’m no asshole to leave you alone in that condition.” Despite I was a half-demon, I was still a human. Besides, demons and humans both had a heart. All we needed was a little switch to turn it on. The humanity.
“I want to be useful to you.” For f**k’s sake! No, Levi, no. This was not happening. Not with this woman.
Because actually, I had a secret. A hidden secret. But I was not going to start it with this woman. Just no, Levi. Just…no.
“You’re already useful just by you being you, Eden. And since I can already tell what a thickheaded woman you are, I want one thing,” I stated. Her eyes immediately blinked in excitement.
Walking closer, “What do you want me to do?” she innocently asked. Everything. Particularly…her.
I moved closer and raised my hand. I was so f*****g doomed. Touching her chin, I gently raised it so we would lock eyes. Goddamn me to hell, those eyes were f*****g inviting! I could almost see her desire washing through all her demonic beings. I was no fool to know this woman wanted me. Only she hadn’t realized it. Not for now. And it had to stay that way. “I want you always to be grateful you’re still alive. Despite you having no memories, I want you to be thankful every single day that you’re still here. Not everybody is as lucky as you are,” I murmured. Pushing my lips closer to her dangerously inviting lips. Stopping a few inches yet I could feel her warm breath silently telling me to come closer and claimed those lips. I didn’t push myself. Because I knew if I crossed the line, there was no going back. “Do you understand me?” I whispered.
And like she was on autopilot, “Yes,” she responded with a whisper too.
“Good.” I smiled. “Very good.” Releasing her, I realized something.
That was her downfall when she said I will do anything for you.
Because it was.
