Ghost & The Lawyer

Episode 2

He was walking faster, so I tried grabbing his hand. Unfortunately, I grabbed his belt instead of his hand because he was walking. He couldn't move because I was stopping him . He tried moving hard but couldn't make it and turned back to look at me.

My eyes are filled with curiosity and shock because I could really touch him just like my physical body does . I wonder about this universe and its creation .

I didn't get any sign of getting back to heaven ;. Does that mean I am going to remain on earth just like my new friends?

But things are getting interesting that I could spend my lonely soul with the actual physical living body of a human .

Am I getting a chance to live again but restricted to encountering only a single human ?

I'm confused about this scenario happening, but it's much more exciting than being alive as a human .

" Were you my client ? "He asked me in a shocking tone .

" No . I'm actually a lawyer who

I have just finished my master's in Law" , I said in a curious tone .

" Is it ? " He said while thinking about something .

" Why don't you reach me out at my office instead of pulling me by holding my belt and pants? " He said .

" I'm sorry sir . This wasn't my intention . It just happened accidentally . I'll meet you up at your office . Thanks for the invitation " , I said with a broad smile .

He chuckled and was about to go to his car, but turned back and asked me to go to his car .

I followed .

" Why don't you just come now ? I have free time and let's discuss what you are up to " , he asked me .

"Of course sir . Thanks for your personal interest " , I replied, in the general habit of being self- defensive words .

" No . Don't consider it as a personal interest . It is professional " , he said, being anxious .

Seems like he definitely needs me .

I'll follow him and come to know what's wrong with him .

" I'm just kidding sir . It would be an honor for me to meet with you " , I said .

I sat in his car beside him . He started to drive the car and tried hard to concentrate on the driving .

" Don't you know about driving ? " I asked him .

" I know how to drive . Will you be calm for a while ? " He said to me .

I feel he is afraid to drive the car, but why do I even care because I already have no physical body?

He stopped his car at a cafeteria which is a kilometer away from his office .

" Let's go inside " , he said to me .

" Is this your office ? The cafeteria? " I asked him .

" Seems like you don't have your own place to build your office " , I also said that to him .

He gazed at me and asked me to get inside .

We occupied our chair near a table decorated with a flower vase and fresh flowers . I couldn't sense the smell of those flowers, and I could also touch and feel the nurturing sensation of flowers .

He ordered me a coffee without asking for my choice, but that was okay. However, I don't eat or drink .

" So what was your grade in your studies ? " He started to talk professionally . I feel like it is an interview .

" I'm a rank holder in my master's" , I said .

" So , why didn't you choose to work after your education ? " He asked me .

" I will, but it takes time . Because I have a few things to settle " , I said .

" Can you work for me ? " , he asked me directly .

"Of course sir . Thanks " , I was excited .

" But as my informal lawyer " , he exclaimed to me .

" What do you mean by informal lawyer ? " I asked him curiously .

"A lot of clients come to my firm . I have highly capable lawyers to take up those cases . But for society , I'm also a lawyer, but I have never won a single case till now . I have money to open and shut my firm, but winning the case is the utmost respect to my firm, at least as the CEO of my company " , he said .

" So, what do you want me to do for you ? " I asked him .

" I want you as my secret lawyer . You need to study my client's cases and help me to win every case as simple as possible " , he said .

I didn't give it a second thought and said okay because this would be my dream coming true though I am not physically alive .

" I don't want to appoint you officially but will take care of your salary and requirements by myself personally . Just give me your phone number and address so that we will follow up further " , he asked me .

" I don't have a phone and I also don't have a place to stay . I vacated my hostel and I have nowhere to go " , I said .

" Then find a place to stay immediately and buy a phone for yourself " , he said .

" I can't use a mobile phone " , I said .

" Why ? " He asked me rudely .

" I'm not carrying a mobile phone for a purpose of staying healthy . So no mobile phone " , I said .

He found me suspecious .

" How can we communicate then ? " He asked me .

" I don't know " , I said .

" Can you cook ? " he asked me an irrelevant question .

" No " , I said .

He was getting irritated but found an idea . This idea made me laugh .

" Stay with me " , he asked me .

" Sorry sir ? " I asked him again .

" You heard me " , he said .

I gave thought for a moment, but what happens if I stay with him ? Nothing much .

I can actually find how he can see me .

" Okay sir . I have no problem " , I said .

" Great . Pack your stuff and let's head to my place " , he said .

" Actually I have no baggage either " , I said .

" What kind of human are you ? "he said angrily .

" I'm not human now " , I said, out of control, and gave a broad smile immediately to cover it up .

" I can see that " , he said sarcastically .

" Let's go " , he said .

We went to his home and he showed me his place . It was beautiful . I have never even seen a place like this in my life .

" What's your name ? " he asked me .

" I'm Selina sir " I said .

" Okay Selina , you can stay in that corner room . Clean it by yourself every day . Nobody comes to your room . If you want to go out , ask me first and then get the confirmation and leave and come back only after I say, " he said .

" Okay sir " , I said .

"Maids come by 7 am and leave by 10 , so don't go out of your room at that time " , he said .

" I don't even wake up at that time . So don't worry sir " , I said .

He gazed at me strangely .

" I will give you the cases tomorrow . Take a rest for today . Don't try to take an interest in me " , he said .

"Of course not sir . You are not my type at all " , I said .

His expression went crazy . I want to laugh out loud .

This is going to be a strange phase of my life . I don't know when I will leave this earth, but at least after I die , I can sense some kind of excitement and a different sensation in my life .
