Ghost & The Lawyer

Episode1

I was sitting alone on a bench in a park. A couple were sitting in front of me, and they seemed so romantic and the cool breeze just perfect for their sudden kiss. I just went and sat in front of them on the floor. I folded my hands and legs and widened my eyes and watched them with a bright smile on my face and with tears falling out from my eyes. I felt happy and sad too after looking at them.

I'm happy because I saw someone kissing who I didn't even see for once in my lifetime and was sad because I didn't get a chance to have a boyfriend.

While I was enjoying the beautiful moment of that couple, a lady suddenly appeared beside me and was weeping. My smile and tears got shut and curiosity aroused.

" Why are you crying ? " I asked her.

" He was my boyfriend," she said on seeing that couple and sitting as that is how I sat in front of them.

" Oh , I'm sorry . Why do you guys break up ? " I asked her .

" We didn't break up . It was just a week after I was dead, and he was already getting into a relationship " , she cried out loudly .

I heard someone else weeping on the other side . The lady and I looked at the man who was crying .

" Who the hell are you, and why are you crying ? " , I asked him too .

" She was my girlfriend " , he said .

I laughed loudly and both were looking at me and cried out loud .

" It's been just two weeks since I was dead, and she is already ready to kiss someone " , he shouted with pain .

" Stop it guys " , I said .

" Who are you ? " Both the ghosts shouted while looking at me .

I smiled and said , " I'm Selina . I died just two days ago . "

" Don't you have a boyfriend ? " They asked me .

" No " , I said .

" What were you guys doing before you were dead ? " The guy asked .

" I'm an Engineer and my name is Jenny " , the female ghost said .

I said wow .

" I'm a doctor and my name is Rohan " , he said .

" What do you do ? They asked me .

" I'm a lawyer " , I said .

" Really ? " They shockingly saw me .

" Actually, if I was not dead , I would have been a lawyer . I finished my master's in law and I met with an accident when I was going for an interview in a reputed law firm " , I said .

They sighed .

" What a waste " , they said .

I just sighed .

" What are you waiting for to leave the earth ? " Jenny asked me .

" I don't know . I need to find it " , I replied .

I asked them why they hadn't left heaven .

Their answer made me laugh .

" We met at the same spot when we died and cried as it is now . We became close and in love with each other . So , we are scared that we might get separated after going to heaven and take another body for the next birth . So we decided to stay here " , Jenny said .

" Are you guys crazy ? You guys are in love and crying in the park after seeing your ex. Wow . If you don't leave earth after the last ritual , you will remain on the earth like ghosts " , I said .

" Yeah, but there is no one to do our last rituals ", they both said .

I didn't feel pity but just wanted to get out of them right away .

I moved to the court entrance in a flash of moment and sat on the steps .

There was a lawyer entering into the court . He got out of his branded car with many people around him . They seemed like his clients . He wore his coat by turning it with a feeling of pride in his heart, being a lawyer . He seems quite famous and handsome too .

I was looking at him and the way of his dignified look .

His hair was waving, and he was not responding to his clients though they were clinging on to him .

I thought he was a busy person .

I wish I could deal with their cases , I said to myself while he was passing me .

He came back and smiled when looking at me and gave me his card .

I couldn't realize at the moment that I was actually a soul, but not a physical being .

Wait , did he actually come to me and speak to me?

Am I visible to him ? I want to go inside and check it again whether I him or not .

I went straight to the seat beside him and sat on the chair .

" Excuse me ? Are you a prosecutor ? " He asked me .

I broadened my eyes and gulped for a second and left the courtroom .

I couldn't get to the real sense and finally laughed out loudly as no one could hear me except him .

I want to face this new and exciting phase of my life after death .

I went and stood at the entrance of the courtroom because he had already started to deal with the case in front of the judge .

As he seems very popular, it would be great to cling around him .

He began to speak and said " your honor... ah... " that was all . He repeated the same for more than five times and couldn't say anything .

I wonder . How come he acted like a really smart lawyer?

He directly came to the conclusion by saying that , " my client is innocent , your honor . "

" Okay . Why don't you just prove it, Himanshu ? " , the judge asked him .

" If you want me to prove , ask the defense lawyer to prove that his client is not a criminal " , Himanshu said to the judge .

What kind of argument was that? He seems an untalented lawyer and crazy too . How could he even become a lawyer?

" What ? " , the defense lawyer said .

" That's all your honor . No further arguments " , Himanshu said .

The judge was scratching his head and adjourned the court and left by throwing the pen rudely on to the table . He got irritated, I guess .

Himanshu went out of the courtroom and many people came around him .

I got curious about those people around him . So I decided to go near to him and check out what exactly was happening .

" Return our money or else win in our cases . You can't even argue a case, but take our money in advance and there is no progress at all . Refund our fee at the moment " , they were saying harshly .

This is why he can't help but just walk faster and get away from them . I thought he had a fan base .

So cruel .

But , why did he give me his card ? Let me go to him and confirm it .
