Chapter 3, Scene I
The following day, it was a sunny afternoon. Mirabel sat on her bed, staring at her phone in silence. Thompson's words kept replaying in her mind like a broken record. She couldn't shake off the confusion, so after thinking for a while, she decided to text Bryan.
Luckily for her, he was online.

Mirabel: Hi, good afternoon. 😊
Bryan: Good afternoon. How are you doing? 🙂
Mirabel: I'm good, thanks. 👍
Bryan: Nice to hear that. 😊
Mirabel: I want to ask you something... 🤔
Bryan: Go on. 👀
Mirabel: Why did you give Thompson my number?! 😤
Bryan: I just wanted him to apologize to you on my behalf. 😌
Mirabel: Seriously?! 😳🔥
A long silence followed. Mirabel stared at the screen, trying to process his response. It didn't make sense to her... or maybe it made too much sense, and that was the problem.
Bryan: Yes.
Mirabel: Okay... who is Princess to you? 🤨
Bryan: She's your friend and also my classmate.
Mirabel: Are you sure? 😒
Bryan: Yes. But why are you asking? I hope there's no problem.
Mirabel: Nothing.
Bryan: Okay, bye for now.
Mirabel: Bye.
📱 The chat ended.
Mirabel slowly dropped her phone onto the bed and stared into space. Her mind was far from calm.
Mirabel: Are they both playing me? They'd better not. 😏
We'll all meet tomorrow.
(She lets out a small laugh.)

The following Monday morning, Mirabel and Princess met at school.
Mirabel: Princess, good morning.
Princess: (smiling) Good morning. How are you doing?
Mirabel: I'm good.
Princess: I hope everything is okay.
Mirabel: Yes... but I need to talk to you about something important.
Princess: I hope there's no problem.
Mirabel: Can we talk now?
Princess: Sure.
Mirabel: Let's go to the garden.
Princess: Okay.
(They both walk to the school garden.)
Mirabel: Princess, I want to ask you a question.
Princess: Go ahead.
Mirabel: What is going on between you and Bryan? 🤨
Princess: Me and Bryan? I don't understand.
Mirabel: I mean... are you two dating? 😐
Princess: Dating?!
Mirabel: Princess, do I look like I'm joking? Please tell me the truth.
Princess: I swear to God Almighty, there's nothing between Bryan and me.
Mirabel: Then could Thompson have been lying? 🤨
Princess: Thompson? You mean Thompson told you that? Oh my God!
Mirabel: Yes.
Princess: I can't believe this. Why would he do that? 😟
Mirabel: I don't know.
Princess: This doesn't make any sense. (She looks worried.)
Mirabel: Fine. If that's the case, let's call both Thompson and Bryan here so we can settle this once and for all.
Princess: That's okay with me.
Mirabel: Because I don't joke with my Bryan. 😌
Princess: I know. But to be sincere, I am not guilty of any of these allegations. Believe me.
Mirabel: We'll find out the truth soon enough.
Princess: Okay.
(Mirabel called Bryan and asked him to meet them in the garden during lunch break. After the call, both girls returned to their classrooms and continued with their lectures.)

During lunch break, Thompson and Bryan were already waiting in the garden.
A few minutes later, Mirabel and Princess arrived.
Mirabel: Sorry for keeping you guys waiting.
Thompson: That's okay. You were the one who called us here.
Mirabel: Yes. I called you because I want us to settle something peacefully.
Thompson: Settle what? 🤨
Princess: Thompson, please let her finish.
Bryan: Just go straight to the point.
Mirabel: Thompson, I want you to tell everyone here exactly what you told me.
Thompson: Told you? I don't know what you're talking about.
Mirabel: Really? Then answer one question. Was everything you told me true, or were you lying? Don't be afraid. Just tell us the truth.
(A brief silence filled the garden.)
Thompson: I think it's time to tell the truth. Everything I told you was a prank.
Mirabel & Princess: (shocked) A prank?! 😳
Bryan: Mirabel... before anything else, I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt you. Thompson and I thought it would be a harmless prank, but we went too far. Please forgive me. The only thing that was never a joke was my love for you.
(Bryan slowly goes down on one knee.)
Bryan: I love you so much, Mirabel. I don't know the perfect words to say, but I know my heart belongs to you. Will you be my girlfriend?
(Mirabel stands speechless, her eyes fixed on Bryan.)
Mirabel: I... I can't believe this. You really surprised me. 😳
(She gently holds his hand.)
Princess: Hmm... love is in the air. 😏
Mirabel: Stop it, joor! 😤 This is all happening too fast. Honestly, if I were to do anything right now, I'd probably cut your head off.
Bryan: Why only me? Wasn't Thompson part of the plan too?
Mirabel: You were the mastermind, so your own case is different. 😌
Princess: That's enough, you two. Mirabel and I have somewhere to be. We'll see you later.
Bryan: Wait! She hasn't even answered my question yet! 😩
Princess: That answer will come another day.
(Mirabel and Princess walk away.)
Thompson: Relax, Bryan. Just let them go.
Bryan: (frowning) This was supposed to be the happiest moment of my life...
Thompson: Don't worry. There's still time. Everything will be fine.
(He pats Bryan on the shoulder.)
Bryan: Thanks, bro. I trust you.
(The two friends smile at each other before walking out of the garden together.)
