Chapter 4 – The Beginning of Forever
Scene I
The next day at school, Princess and Mirabel were busy preparing for their forthcoming examinations. They spent most of their time studying in the library.
After leaving the library, they began talking about what had happened the previous day.
Mirabel: I still can't believe what happened yesterday. It felt like a dream.
Princess: I know, right? I couldn't believe it either.
Mirabel: Princess, I'm sincerely sorry for not trusting you. Please forgive me.
Princess: It's okay. Don't worry about it. Although I was shocked at first, everything has been settled now.
Mirabel: I'm really sorry for the way I behaved.
Princess: It's alright. But how could Thompson keep such a secret from you?
Mirabel: How did you expect him to tell me when it was all part of the plan?
Princess: You're right. You have a point.
Mirabel: Exactly.
Princess: So... have you made up your mind?
Mirabel: About what? 🤨
Princess: Bryan, of course. 😏
Mirabel: You this girl! Stop pulling my legs. (laughs)
Princess: You don't even have to say it. It's already written all over your face.
Mirabel: Meaning what exactly? 😏
Princess: Let's go to Bryan's class.
Mirabel: What for?
Princess: I want to see Thompson.
Mirabel: Alright, let's go.
(They walk to Bryan's classroom, where Bryan and Thompson are busy using their phones.)
Princess: Hi.
Mirabel: Good afternoon.
Bryan: Good afternoon. How are you doing?
Mirabel: I'm doing great. And you?
Bryan: I'm good too.
(Princess gently holds Thompson's hand and leads him outside, giving Bryan and Mirabel some privacy.)
Bryan: So... how has your day been?
Mirabel: It's been great.
Bryan: You know... every time I see you, you look even more beautiful.
Mirabel: Hmm... (blushes)
(Bryan suddenly goes down on one knee.)
Bryan: Please... I really need your answer.
Mirabel: Bryan, stand up. You're embarrassing me.
Bryan: I'm not standing until you say yes.
(Mirabel smiles shyly.)
Mirabel: Yes... I'll be your girlfriend.
(Bryan happily lifts her off the ground for a moment before gently putting her down. Some students nearby clap and cheer.)
Princess: Hmm... love is truly in the air. 😏
Mirabel: Princess!
Princess: What? Is it because you're with your boyfriend now? 😌
Mirabel: Why are you so concerned? 😏
Bryan: Exactly!
Thompson: What's going on here? 🤨
(Princess quickly runs over to him.)
Princess: They are making fun of me!
Thompson: Don't cry, baby. I'm here.
(Princess pretends to cry.)
Thompson: I'm warning you two. This should be the first and last time you make my baby cry. Am I understood? 😠
Mirabel: Yes, sir.
Bryan: We understand.
Thompson: Good. Let's go, baby.
(They walk away together.)
Narrator: The light fades.

Scene II
Narrator: Years passed. Bryan and Mirabel completed secondary school, attended the same university, graduated successfully, and after years of love, friendship, and unwavering support for each other, they finally got married.
It was their wedding night.
The newly married couple sat on their bed, talking happily.
Bryan: Baby, I still remember the first day we met.
Mirabel: Of course... when you weren't sick. 😌
Bryan: You were really heartless back then.
Mirabel: Well, I'm all yours now, so forget about the past.
Bryan: (laughs) You're right.
Mirabel: I still can't believe we're finally married.
Bryan: Neither can I. It feels like a dream.
(Suddenly, Mirabel's phone rings.)
Caller ID: Mum
Mirabel: Oh, it's my mum.
(She answers the call.)
📞 Phone Conversation
Mirabel: Hello, Mum.
Mrs. Augustiñe: Hello, my dear daughter. How are you?
Mirabel: I'm fine, Mum. How are you?
Mrs. Augustiñe: I'm doing well too. I hope everything is going well over there.
Mirabel: Yes, Mum. Everything is fine.
Mrs. Augustiñe: How is your husband?
Mirabel: He's here with me.
Mrs. Augustiñe: Wonderful. Please let me speak with him.
(Mirabel hands the phone to Bryan.)
Bryan: Hello, Mum.
Mrs. Augustiñe: Hello, my son-in-law. How are you?
Bryan: I'm very well, Mum. Thank you.
Mrs. Augustiñe: I'm happy to hear that. Your mother called me earlier today. She said she had been trying to reach you, but your phone wasn't connecting.
Bryan: Oh yes, Mum. My phone was switched off, which is why she couldn't reach me. I'll call her back shortly using Mirabel's phone.
Mrs. Augustiñe: Alright, my son. I just wanted to make sure everything was okay. I hope I'm not disturbing you both.
Bryan: Not at all, Mum.
Mrs. Augustiñe: Okay then. Please take good care of each other and enjoy your marriage.
Bryan: Thank you very much, Mum.
Mrs. Augustiñe: You're welcome. Good night, my children.
Bryan: Good night, Mum.
(The call ends.)
Mirabel: Babe, what did Mum say?
Bryan: She said my mum had been trying to call me, but my phone was switched off.
Mirabel: Oh, I see.
Later that night...
Mirabel: Babe... I'm hungry. 😩
Bryan: It's already 11:31 p.m.
Mirabel: So what am I supposed to eat?
Bryan: Everywhere is closed now.
Mirabel: Can't you cook something for me?
Bryan: Me?
Mirabel: Yes!
Bryan: Baby, let's wait until morning.
Mirabel: Hmm... okay.
(They cuddle together and eventually fall asleep.)
Narrator: The light fades.

Scene III
Early the next morning, Bryan woke up before Mirabel and prepared breakfast.
He carried the tray into their bedroom, where Mirabel was still pretending to be asleep.
Bryan: Baby... (gently taps her)
Mirabel: Hmm? (opens her eyes)
Bryan: Good morning, baby.
Mirabel: Good morning. How was your night?
Bryan: It was wonderful. How about yours?
Mirabel: Mine was great too.
Bryan: I made breakfast for you because you said you were hungry last night.
Mirabel: Aww... that's so sweet! Where's my food?
Bryan: Wait a minute.
Mirabel: Why? Where's my breakfast?
Bryan: I'm not giving it to you just yet.
Mirabel: Why?
Bryan: Because there are two conditions.
Mirabel: Two conditions again? What are they?
Bryan: First, go and brush your teeth.
Mirabel: Fine. What's the second one?
Bryan: I'll tell you after you come back.
(She brushes her teeth and returns.)
Mirabel: I'm back. What's the second condition?
Bryan: You have to attend a party with me.
Mirabel: A party? You know I don't like parties, especially night parties.
Bryan: Please, baby. It's really important to me.
Mirabel: Hmm... alright. I agree.
Bryan: Really?
Mirabel: Yes. Now, where's my breakfast?
Bryan: Oops! I almost forgot.
(He laughs and hands her the tray.)
Mirabel: Thank you, baby.
(She begins eating happily.)
Bryan: So... how does it taste?
Mirabel: Mmm... it's delicious! You're an amazing cook.
(Bryan secretly records her.)
Mirabel: Hey! What are you doing?
Bryan: Nothing. Just keep eating.
Mirabel: Where's your food?
Bryan: I already ate mine.
Mirabel: Then why are you still watching me?
Bryan: Because I love watching you smile.
(Mirabel smiles shyly and continues eating as Bryan watches her with love.)
Narrator: The light fades.
