Chapter 2, Scene I Narrator: Later that afternoon, Mirabel met Princess in the school garden to apologize. Mirabel: Hey, Princess? (Princess doesn't respond.) Mirabel: Princess, I'm talking to you. Princess: Hmph. What is it now? Just leave me alone. Mirabel: I came to apologize. Princess: For what? Mirabel: For not calling you when I was going to the cafeteria. I'm really sorry. I promise it won't happen again. Princess: You promise? Mirabel: Yes, I promise. (They hug.) Mirabel: Can I sit now? Princess: Why not? Sit. (Mirabel sits beside her.) Princess: So... are we going to gist now? Mirabel: Gist about what? (Princess lowers her voice and covers her mouth slightly with her hand.) Princess: Bryan. (Mirabel raises her eyebrows and shrugs.) Mirabel: Oh... him. There's nothing to talk about. Princess: Is it because I didn't follow you that day? Mirabel: No now. Princess: Oya, talk. (Mirabel hesitates for a moment.) Mirabel: What were you expecting me to say? (Princess's eyes widen.) Princess: Don't tell me you... Oh my God! Mirabel: Don't get me wrong. I haven't said yes. Princess: Why? (Mirabel sighs softly.) Mirabel: I just need some time to think about it. (Princess nods and leans closer.) Princess: Okay... but I'm sure he's a good and gentle guy. I've never even seen him with another girl. I swear. I don't know what he's like at home, though, so I can't say much about that. Mirabel: I only told him I'd think about it. Wait... what's the time? Princess: Let me check. (She takes out her phone.) Princess: It's 2:35! (Mirabel's eyes widen.) Mirabel: Oh no! It's Geography period! (Without wasting another second, both girls rush back to their classroom.) --- Chapter 2, Scene II Narrator: A few days later, Princess was sitting in the classroom reading a book when Mirabel walked in. Mirabel: Hi, Princess. Princess: Mira! Where have you been? Mirabel: I was just strolling around the school compound. Princess: Without me? Mirabel: I'm sorry. It won't happen again. (She scratches her head awkwardly.) Princess: It's okay. How was your stroll? Mirabel: It was cool. I only met Bryan. Princess: Hope he didn't disturb you? Mirabel: No. He didn't even say much. Princess: Wait... let me ask you something. (She drops her pen and places both hands on the desk.) Mirabel: What? Princess: Do you like him? Mirabel: (Rolling her eyes.) Why are you asking me that? Princess: Just answer me. Mirabel: If that's what you want to hear... yes. Princess: I knew it. Then why don't you give him a chance? Mirabel: Who told you that? Princess: Thompson did. Mirabel: Thompson? Who is Thompson? Princess: Don't tell me you've forgotten the guy I met at the cafeteria that day. Mirabel: Oh... him. Princess: Yes. He's also Bryan's best friend. Mirabel: Best friend? Princess: Yes. Mirabel: (Surprised.) How come I didn't know that? And why didn't you tell me? Princess: My dear, you never asked. I hope there's no problem. Mirabel: (Laughs softly.) No, no... let's continue. Princess: Are you sure you're okay? Mirabel: Yes. But why did he do that? Princess: Do what? Mirabel: Never mind. See you later. Bye. (She walks away.) Princess: Mira... what's wrong? (She sighs.) Princess: Only God knows what's wrong with her. (She continues reading her book.) --- Chapter 2, Scene III Narrator: It was Saturday morning. Mirabel sat on her bed, scrolling through her phone, when it suddenly rang. Mirabel: Hello? Thompson: Good morning. Mirabel: Please, who am I speaking with? Thompson: It's me... Thompson. Mirabel: (Surprised.) Tho-Thompson? How did you get my number? Thompson: Bryan gave it to me. You know I'm his best friend, right? Mirabel: (Trying to stay calm.) Yeah... I know. Thompson: What's wrong? Mirabel: Nothing. Why did you call? Thompson: It's about what I told you the other day. Mirabel: About what? Thompson: Mirabel, I swear I'm not lying to you. I'm serious. Mirabel: Are you talking about Bryan or yourself? Thompson: Which Bryan? Don't tell me you mean that smelly guy. Mirabel: What? What did you just say? Thompson: You heard me. Mirabel: Oh my God... what about Princess? Thompson: What about her? Mirabel: What do you mean? Thompson: I mean she has nothing to do with this. Mirabel: Oh my God... you people are not reliable. Thompson: Listen to me. Bryan asked me to talk to you on his behalf. Princess wasn't involved at all. Mirabel: Don't lie to me. I know everything. Thompson: I'm serious. I'm telling you the truth. Mirabel: Are you done? Thompson: What?! Mirabel: Bye. (She ends the call.) Mirabel: Could he actually be telling the truth? No... I don't believe him. Fine. We'll all find out on Monday. (She smiles to herself.) Mirabel: Movie go happen. Narrator: The light fades.
