Like Objects

Chapter Ten

" I've decided on preparing a traditional salad, the chefs are preparing two mains and two different desserts perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth."

Hikari was overlooking the kitchen staff. I silently watched as people ran around busily trying to prepare various things.

" Hikari, how did you come to work in this house?"

She glanced at me.

" Well. I was hired to work with the boys mother, who was at the time pregnant with Doux."

I glanced up at her " Doux?"

She nodded " The Masters Older brother. He married only two years prior himself. Regardless, the Lady Mrs White requested I serve as Nanny to the boy when he was born.

She requested I stay with Master as he is a little bit more careless in contrast to the rest of their family."

I nodded. Nord was a bit of a selfish person at times. A tease at others. And plain rude when he was upset.

" Can you tell me more about The Whites...?"

She glared at me.

" No. I'd prefer you speak with your in laws directly. "

I frowned at her noticing there was noise... A lot of noise leaving the building.

Looking behind the kitchen, people seemed to be leaving the building. Men and women. I naturally assumed some of the younger staff probably had families to return to.

Hikari helped me later in the day to style my hair a particular way, to one side, letting it sway in waves.

Today was one of those rare days where she requested I wear a suit. The black was smooth and classy. I liked it to say the least.

I waited for my husband to arrive as usual... And followed him to our room.

He dressed in silence and cleared his throat when he noticed me watching him.

He too was dressed in a very form fitting suit.

" There's some things I should... Warn you about."

" Hm?"

I looked up at him raising a brow.

He glared at me with a soft frown on his face.

" You can not... Talk to Liod's Toy at dinner. You can't ask about his toy. The toy is invisible."

I nodded at him " I understand."

He chuckled " My brother will flirt relentlessly. He only does so to make his wife jealous. If this happens you smile but don't return any comments."

I kept a watch on him as he sighed looking forlorn.

" My mom will hammer you about our s*x life and relationship. Just brush off her questions.... Politely please."

I walked over to him with a sigh as he fixed his tie.

" I understand."

Meeting the Whites they were ever so stern looking even Doux and his wife. The two of them looked irritated as though they'd been in an argument prior.

His father glowered at me shaking my hand, whilst his mothers eyes lit up at me with a red lipped smirk growing on her face.

Doux himself took my hand instantly not even looking at me but pressing a kiss to the back of it.

" Nice to meet you." He purred.

His wife growled " Move, you're in the way Doux!"

The couples sat beside each other. Ari, Douxs wife sat a little further away from him.

My parents arrived looking as smart as ever and I rushed to hug them. My mother was still ignoring my existence.

When Liod arrived it was evident how possessive he was over his toy. The boy who barely looked sixteen looked irritated.

Liod was a blond haired beau who towered over everyone, he was slim as he gleamed at the rest of us, pulling his short toy along who was wearing effeminate clothing and was pulled into Liod's lap once he was seated.

My father glared at them, pulling a face.

" So..." Nord's dad glared at the two newcomers.

" Nord, I hear you head off for your honeymoon just tomorrow. What are you planning?"

Nord glanced up at his father and smiled " Well." He took my hand in his.

" The plan is to take my partner to Switzerland and... Enjoy the snowier climates."

I coughed up on my water, glaring at him.

" Switzerland!?" I growled under my breath at him, he could only smirk at me, eyeing me up and down.

" You'll love it, Light." His hand moved away from mine as we resumed focusing on the meal.

Midway through the conversation Nord's mother tried to squeeze a conversation out of me.

She purred " Any news on when you two might be starting a family?"

I glared at her " I... Don't think we have any plans on that as of yet... Um... We have a long way yet."

He was right... she was so forward.

From the other side of the table Liod was growling at the boy sat in his lap " Eat... Come on... You're here as my partner..."

The boy glared up at him... " I'm your toy..."

Liod bit his lip, removing his hands around the boy letting him wonder off and travel.

My father was sipping wine non stop watching Doux and his wife.

" Oh please Ari, the boy has more s*x appeal than you do when you're trying to flaunt it." Doux spat at his wife.

She snapped right back though." Oh what a shame it was that the male species didn't have to flaunt their sexuality because you'd be stuck for suitors!"

He glowered at her " You control your mouth around my family!"

" Doux. Control yourself. These matters should be discussed in private... Not at our hosts dinner party." His mother leered glancing back at me.

She smiled coyly " So how was the first night as a couple?"

I rolled my eyes at myself.

" Well... Not that... That's something I would discuss..."

" Mom!" Nord cut in frowning. " Its the dinner table! Not a womens congregate!"

His mother bit her lip before sulking " Well alright I was just curious..."

Nord frowned " This is my family time..."

He leaned closer to my neck and hummed... "The ladies will go to the entertainment lounge.... We are going to play a game of cards in the study. Okay? "

I nodded at him... Looking at him, he had leaned close enough to touch.

I was craving to touch him with the amount of space between us.
