CHAPTER SEVEN
“I’m going to miss you so much,” Peter said softly to Angie, holding her short body close to his lanky one as they lay together in bed. With the upcoming Thompson staff retreat in a week, Peter and Angie had wanted to get some alone time away. They both took the day off work on this Friday and drove from Washington across the state to the Brunner’s small hunting cabin tucked away in the West Virginia mountains. Though hardly a vacation resort, the plan was for the couple to disconnect from their busy schedules for a long weekend and spend the whole time together hiking the rugged trails, swimming in the nearby lake, just enjoying nature and each other’s company.
