The week spent at Sim Thompson’s hunting cabin had proven to be an effective retreat for the team, and Peter felt proud of the work he and the others had done in that short time.
They started every morning with a hearty breakfast cooked by Thompson himself, which also acted as an informal team meeting to decide what the objectives for the day were. Then they’d break off into smaller groups, sometimes working together and sometimes individually, with lunch being another informal check-in meeting. Thompson insisted on a daily siesta in the early afternoon for people to relax, nap, hike outside, or whatever they needed to do to keep their minds fresh.
