1. The Weird Dream

Isabella “No, this can’t be happening.” “Ala……I…..L…LL.” And the last breath left me, just like I left him. “Bellaaaaaa…….!” “Huh.” I sat up in my bed, all sweaty with a racing heart. Nightmare. It was a nightmare. Yet, I knew it wasn’t. Something about it felt oddly familiar. The voice. The man’s voice called my name brokenly. Desperately. Begging me to come back. I couldn’t see his face because his head was on my chest, sobbing hard. All I saw was his black hair and heard his broken, despairing voice. There was blood. So much blood. And it was mine. I was lying dead in my blood. The dream was so vivid that I couldn’t shake it off even after trying to calm myself down. It was 3 in the morning when I woke up. And for the next few hours, as much as I tried, I couldn’t sleep. It was the first time, I ever had a dream like that and it rattled me completely. By the time, it required me to get ready for school, I had swollen eyes with circles underneath them. I had an ominous feeling that today wouldn’t be a normal day. But I shook it off, telling myself, I was getting paranoid because of the strange dream. ********** I saw people staring at me from all directions when I was parking my car in the school parking lot. I knew what they all were wondering. It was what I was wondering myself. Why didn’t William come today to pick me up for school? I know, normally, if your three-year-old boyfriend doesn’t come to pick you up for school one day, it’s no big deal. But when that same boyfriend never missed a single day in the last year, then definitely it’s something that bothers you. And it was bothering me. I felt like, this day had started on a bad note and would end on worse. I had texted Megumi, to meet me at the parking lot, to which she replied, telling me to wait for her. I was early by half an hour given I didn’t sleep much last night and in the morning woke up before my alarm. And thus, I was standing on the right side of my black Range Rover, checking my ** feed to pass my time, when a black Bugatti Veyron parked beside me. My jaw dropped open by looking at that shiny black beauty. That car was power and one in its league. But what happened next or rather who happened next grabbed my attention completely. First came the black biker boots. Then came the legs cladded in black ripped jeans. It was when the guy got his a*s out of the seat, that I sucked in a harsh breath. His face was devastatingly beautiful. Strong jaw. High-sculpted cheekbones. Black piercing eyes with thick lashes. Full lips with jet black hair and fair skin. I got so lost in his appearance and who he was that I didn’t notice that he purposely embellished his exit from the car. I gave him a once-over, taking in the black leather jacket that he swung over his shoulder and white V-neck polo shirt which did nothing to hide how fit he was. After his one hell of spectacle show, the last part was when he stretched, putting his taut muscles on display. He had everyone’s attention. All the females were practically drooling and sighing with l**t, after watching him in all his glory. While running a hand through his hair, his eyes settled on me. I was practically standing next to him so it was only natural that his gaze caught me watching him. It would have been fine if he would have only watched and left. But no he went ahead, winking and smirking at me when everyone’s eyes were glued to him. My eyes turned into slits at his playboy charm, but it didn’t bother him. Because the very next second, he came closer to me, tilting my chin up with his forefinger while his eyes stared into mine with feral intensity. “Like what you see, Bella.” My brain just got fried. His voice. His voice was so sexy. Smooth and deep with a rasp. I stood there completely under his spell until I heard Megumi’s voice. “Oh. My. God.” I blinked and took a step back, colliding with my car. He looked at me and smirked. “See you later, Bella.” It was when he left, that I exhaled the breath I was holding without knowing. I wasn’t the only one who was affected. Megumi appeared even more flustered than me. “What was that, Bella?” She teased me by mimicking his voice. It was then that I realized that he knew my name. He called me Bella when I never even told him my name. Hell, I never even saw the said guy before. I shrugged, trying to brush it off. But knowing Megumi, I knew she would pester me with thousand and one questions about him and what happened between us. And the worst was, that I had no answers. I only had questions. Questions only he could answer. ********** Megumi was practically hysterical. She was going nuts, thinking about why William didn’t come to pick me up and how I ended up with that complete badass stranger. We had our first class together and thus rather than focusing on the essay Ms. Hayek asked us to do, we both were busy with our conversation. By conversation I mean, me telling her everything that happened today except for the weird dream I had and her giving the dramatic responses. “I still can’t believe that actually happened with you. I mean it’s definitely strange that douchebag boyfriend of yours didn’t come to pick you up today if you ask me. And don’t even get me started on Alistair Black.” She fanned her face, feeling flustered all over again when I looked at her in complete surprise. “I don’t get it. Why all of sudden you are calling William a douchebag? For the past two weeks, you have been acting against William. Did something happen between you two that I am supposed to know? And who is Alistair Black, Meg?” Her eyes bulged out of the sockets at the last part. “You don’t know who Alistair Black is?” she ghostly whispers. “Do I look like a fool who would ask this question if I knew who he is?” I told her dryly, before rolling my eyes at her lack of common sense. “He is the Alistair Black. The one who came back to school after spending his two years in military school. He has always been the bad boy through and through. And everyone knows him and about him. How could you forget him?” The look on Megumi’s face showed as if I committed a crime by forgetting the town’s famous bad boy. The guy who drove the Bugatti Veyron is a famous delinquent. Could this get any worse than that? Oh yeah. The worst was that he caught me eyeing him in the parking lot like the rest of the girls. As I said, this day started on a bad note and would end worse. I could only hope that I would be able to survive it.
