Later That Night — Khoza Residence, White River Adam was just from the shower in deep in thought. He hadn’t heard from Nomadlozi since she left the hotel. He didn’t want to overwhelm her, but the silence was suffocating. His phone rang. Dudu He picked up quickly. “Dade?” “Bhuti… are you with her?” Dudu’s voice sounded shaken. “With who?” “Nomadlozi.” Adam was already opening his socials. And there it was. Adam sat on the edge of his desk, one hand clenched around his phone, the other scrolling. His screen flashed with a now-viral video. Capital Hotel | Nelspruit A woman — drenched in ice water — slipping hard on the marble floor. Her dress soaked. Her weight exaggerated by the angle. Her pain turned into public entertainment. The laughter in the comment section was relentless. Hashtags were cruel. Adam didn’t even blink. He just watched. And then dialed. Nomafu. She picked up with a smug, fake sweetness. “Adam. Was wondering when you'd call.” He didn’t bother with greetings. “Was it you?” Her voice stiffened. “Was what me?” “The video. Of her. Slipping. Soaking. Trending.” His tone was steady. Empty. Deadly. “Don’t be ridiculous,” she scoffed. “Do I look like I run gossip blogs?” “No,” Adam said flatly. “You look like someone who’s spiraling because she’s not wanted.” That silence that followed was thick with bruised ego. “You’re assuming a lot,” she finally replied. “I’m not assuming,” he said coldly. “I know you. I know how you operate. You’re petty, vindictive, and you hate losing.” Nomafu’s voice rose. “Losing? To her? She embarrassed herself! She—” “you attacked her, Nomafu. And you used it to feed the wolves.” He stood now, pacing, voice even colder. “You think I care what people say about me? Take down that video” He paused. “You humiliate her again, and I swear to God, I will destroy you.” Nomafu choked on a laugh. “You’re threatening me?” “just a promise” he said. Calm. Controlled. Lethal. “You might have been the plan. But she is the reason I stayed.” Nomafu’s voice cracked. “So this is it? You’re done with me? After everything?” “We were done in high school besides you always knew the truth.” “What truth?” “That I never loved you,” Adam said. No hesitation. “You were available. And I was stupid.” A sharp breath on the other side. Her pride was bleeding. “You don’t mean that.” “I do. And I’m only going to say this once — stay away from her. Or I'll take you.” He was about to hang up — but paused, voice dropping to ice. “One more move from you… and I won’t speak next time. I’ll act.” Click. He hung up. --- Radebe Mansion — Nomafu’s Room The call ended. The silence was deafening. Nomafu stood in her room, phone still in hand, her heart pounding with rage and humiliation. He didn’t yell. He didn’t flinch. He didn’t even curse. That was worse. He was serious. And for the first time, Nomafu realized… Lily was about to be lethal towards her She was abandoned for a fat girl She stormed to her window and pulled the curtain open. The estate was peaceful. Mocking her. She whispered to herself, teeth clenched: “You’ll wish you never touched him, sis. I’ll make sure of it.”
