Sofia’s eyes scanned the room which was dimly lit, with only a few candles illuminating the space. The soft, golden glow of the candles cast a warm and intimate ambiance, but it also created eerie shadows on the walls. The air was thick with the scent of roses and lavender, adding to the sense of luxury and refinement.
“So I’m really married?” She murmured to herself as she looked around
Despite the opulent decorations, the room felt cold and impersonal, reflecting the tense and formal atmosphere between the newlyweds.
Sofia sat on the bed, attempting to process the reality of her situation. She was married. The wedding had taken place, and she had exchanged vows with Prince Stefan.
“It all feels as unreal as a dream” she murmured again
“It feels like yesterday where I was still a human princess. And now I’m a werewolf princess?” She thought scoffing at the absurdity of her situation
Her life had taken a different turn that she wasn’t sure how to go about it anymore. The fact that she was going with everything freely was what baffled her the most. The fact that despite not knowing these people she felt more safe than with her own kingdom and family was something she could not seem to place her hands on.
As she reflected on the events, Sofia's eyes widened as her mind drifted back to the note she had discovered days ago. The mysterious message had mentioned "his true nature," leaving her with unanswered questions.
Stefan's entrance interrupted her thoughts. His eyes appeared red, and his gaze was fixed intently on her. Sofia stuttered, inquiring about his presence.
The atmosphere was tense, with Stefan's expression remaining cold and detached. He approached Sofia, his movements deliberate and calculated.
As he drew near, Sofia felt a sense of desperation and hunger emanating from him. It was as if he was driven by a strong urge, but the nature of this urge remained unclear.
For a minute they both stared at each other silently, the only sound was the soft crackling of the candles, which seemed to emphasize the silence and awkwardness between the newlywed couple.
Stefan bridged the gap between them as he moved closer to her. The intensity he felt and the one which Sofia saw in his eyes was a burning one. Without saying a word, he grabbed her neck slightly making a light gasp escape from Sofia’s mouth.
“Shssshhhh” He whispered, placing a finger over her lips signaling her to be quiet.
Sofia sat still staring at him as he traced his fingers slowly over her lips down to her neck and gasp escaped her lips
His eyes reddened the more and his muscular veins erupted visibly on his skin as he suddenly got intense with stroking her neck. His fangs had come out and she felt the effect of the pinch on her skin and let out a slight cry.
As if realizing himself, Stefan withdrew himself from her and rubbed his head. With that he picked up his cloak which was across the room and walked away leaving Sofia bewildered and unsatisfied. The tension between them was palpable, but he had left her hanging, unsure of what had just transpired.
Sofia's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. What had Stefan wanted from her? And why had he stopped just as things were getting intense? She touched the part of her neck where Stefan’s fangs had slightly pricked her and she noticed a little blood had gushed out. She let out a sigh and went into the bath room to freshen up.
Sofia cleaned her makeup and had a hot refreshing bath. As she stared herself in the mirror she couldn’t help but think about Stefan and what his true nature could be. That note was obviously about him as he was already displaying the signs. Wait…who could have sent her that note? And why did the person deem it fit to want to reveal that to her she thought. She barely knew anyone in the palace. She was still thinking when she heard a noise out in the room. She quickly threw on her robe, tying the sash around her waist and ran outside to see what could have made that noise.
She looked around the room but found nothing.Sofia frowned, wondering if she had just imagined the noise.
She walked over to the windows, which were open to let in the night air. The wind was blowing heavily, causing the curtains to billow out into the room. As Sofia reached out to close the windows, she couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was wrong. She was sure she had heard a sound. Looking out into the dark, she saw a retreating figure which sent a chill down her spines.
“Who’s there?” She shouted with her voice shaking
The figure stopped but did not turn around
“Who are you?” She shouted again amidst fears and the figure dissappeared
Sofia's heart racing, she stood frozen at the window, her eyes fixed on the spot where the figure had vanished. The darkness outside seemed to swallow everything, leaving her with more questions than answers.
"Who was that?" she whispered to herself, her voice trembling with fear.
She tried to shake off the feeling of unease, telling herself it was just her imagination playing tricks on her. But the memory of the retreating figure lingered, sending a chill down her spine.
Sofia took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. She closed the windows, securing the latch to prevent the wind from blowing them open again. As she turned back to the room, she noticed a piece of paper on the floor, near the window.
She walked over to pick it up, wondering if it might be a clue to the mysterious figure's identity. As she unfolded the paper, she saw that it was a note, written in the same handwriting as the previous one.
"Be careful, Princess," the note read. "Not everyone is what they seem."
Sofia's heart skipped a beat as she read the words. Who was sending her these notes? And what did they mean?
Just then Captain Ryker ran in.
“Your Highness! Are you okay?” He inquired
“Yes I’m fine, Is anything the problem” Sofia responded feigning stability and a slight smile
“No I thought I heard you scream” He said unsure, his eyes scanning the room
Sofia's eyes met Captain Ryker's, and for a moment, she considered telling him about the mysterious figure and the note. But something held her back.
"It's just the wind," she said finally, forcing a smile onto her face. "It's making me a little jumpy, that's all."
Captain Ryker's expression softened, and he nodded. "I'll post some guards outside your window, just in case," he said. "We can't be too careful."
Sofia nodded, feeling a mix of relief and unease. She was grateful for the captain's concern, but she knew that she couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched.
As Captain Ryker turned to leave, Sofia's eyes drifted back to the window, her mind replaying the events of the night. She knew that she had to be careful, but she also knew that she couldn't ignore the feeling that something was off.
The wind is a gentle lover, one day it caresses and the next day it can be so rough and tough.
