Chastity The curious encounter with the King had been enough to make me forget the vile comments the other omegas had made about me. I returned to the kitchen just in time for Delphine to muscle me in front of a sink full of dishes. Between the King, his advisers, and the royal warriors, and their families, there had to be over a thousand wolves fed by the kitchen at any given meal. It was enough mindless work for me to process the shock of seeing the King sniffing my shirt.  I let myself get lost in the monotony. Scrub, rinse, drying rack, grab the next. It was a surprisingly soothing task that allowed the rest of the world to fall away. I was drifting along peacefully while my hands worked when searing pain burned through my lips, causing me to drop a bowl into the water with a splash.
