Losing Innocence

TRIGGER WARNING: THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS THEMES OF s****l ASSAULT THAT MAY BE DISTURBING TO SOME READERS.      I had backed away from Billy as far as I could. My back was pressed against the wall with nowhere left to run. He continued his menacing advance, aware of the fact that he had me trapped. I squeezed my eyes closed, willing it to be a dream, but my silent pleas went unanswered. I could smell the alcohol on his breath when he forced his lips against mine, his body pinning me tighter against the cold concrete of the basement walls. My hands struggled weakly against his body as he pressed against me harder.     "Don't play hard to get now." He huffed, capturing my hands together in one of his. "You wouldn't want me to spill the beans to my father about your little trips to the kitchen when you think nobody's awake now, would you."     "Please. Just leave me alone." My voice shook.     He slapped my face violently with his free hand causing my head to bounce off the brick wall behind me. My check burned, I could taste the metallic saltiness of blood where the blow had split my lip, and my vision had gone blurry from the tears welling up in my eyes.     "Just shut up, you stupid w***e. Everyone knows you're only good for one thing, and I came to get mine." He snarled. "You can scream and let the whole packhouse know what a w***e you are, or you can shut up and take it. Your choice bitch."     As if struck by an idea, Billy dragged me by my hands toward the mattress. I was too afraid of what might happen to fight back. Tangling his free hand in my hair, he forced me to my knees in front of him. Bile burned in my throat as he released my hands to undo his zipper. He let his jeans drop below his hips, freeing himself from his boxers.     "Open your mouth, slut." He ordered.     I tried to jerk my head away. His hand in my hair kept me firmly in place, leaving me no option other than to press my lips tightly together and hope he would give up. Billy growled lightly at the realization that I wasn't going to comply. His eyes narrowed for a moment; a flash of something sinister went across his face before a malicious grin broke across his lips. Letting his pants drop to the floor, he pinched my nose and held firm.     "If you won't open your mouth willingly, I guess we will have to see how long you can go without air." He laughed.     My lungs began to burn from the lack of fresh oxygen to fill them. Tears streaked down my face like a raging river. I held out as long as I could, both hoping and terrified that I would lose consciousness. After what felt like eons, my body forced me to take a reflexive gasp for air. I had no more than parted my lips to gulp in the oxygen I so desperately needed when Billy rammed himself into my mouth, causing me to gag. The urge to bite down overwhelmed me, and I nearly gave into it.     Billy groaned, wrapping both hands in my hair. I pressed back against his thighs with what little strength I had in me, only to be met with his hands moving my head more roughly. My throat felt bruised, like it would tear open at any second from the violent assault on my mouth. He seemed to enjoy me struggling against him, moaning wildly each time I tried to push away.     "Your mouth feels so f*****g good." He breathed, slamming himself against my throat once more.     I felt his member twitch on my tongue, and he withdrew, throwing me roughly onto my mattress. I hoped that his assault was over, but the look on his face told me otherwise. Scrambling to the opposite side of the mattress, I pulled my knees tightly to my chest, attempting to make myself as small a target as I could. Billy was undeterred. His fingers dug into one of my ankles, and he yanked me across the bed toward him.     "Don't be like that. You know you're having fun." He snarled.     My mind raced, trying to find any escape I could only to realize that there was no safety to be had. I let my body go limp, retreating into the recesses of my mind. As if at a far distance, I felt my shirt tear away and teeth close roughly around my n****e. Billy had positioned himself on top of me, his weight pressing me into the mattress, but I took no notice. My eyes were closed tightly, better to convince myself that I was far away from my reality. Cocooned in the safety of my mind, I convinced myself the sharp pain in my nether regions belonged to someone else.     I lost myself to my imaginary world, leaving my body outwardly limp as Billy writhed atop me. The body he was assaulting wasn't my own. I was miles away, in a world where I had grown up safe and loved. My parents comforted me over a skinned knee. My mind carried me to a place where the worst thing that ever happened was an accidental tumble, typical of any child. I stayed in my imaginary world long after Billy had finished, leaving me limp and broken on my bed.     I lay curled in a ball under my thin blanket the rest of the night. Though my mind had transported me to safety, it refused to give me over to sleep. Fear that the Alpha's son may return gripped me tightly, and I remained awake. When the first streaks of daylight broke through the small window, I moved in a daze. Mister Whiskers was waiting for me as I opened the window. My furry friend seemed to sense something was amiss, refusing to leave my side when I placed him gently on the floor. He stayed with me, rubbing against my ankles as I dressed in silence, preparing to begin my work for the day.     I went about scrubbing and preparing the second floor as though nothing were wrong. It wasn't as if anyone would have cared had I shown outward signs of damage. The pack preferred to pretend that I didn't exist beyond my duties to them. There was nobody to save me from the coming night or the terrors that awaited me in the dark.     Come Monday morning; my eyes were ringed with black circles so deep they could have been bruises. Billy had come again the night before, causing me to retreat further into myself. I felt as if my soul had detached from my body, watching it go through the motions as I floated nearby, pitying the poor girl that should have been there. I took no notice of the snide remarks as I moved to my locker. My movements were mechanical, my body on autopilot as I exchanged the books in my bag for the ones I would need for class.     "Hey," Rob said, grabbing my arm. "I said, are you alright?"     Raising my eyebrows, I turned to face him. Rob had always been careful not to show our friendship in public at the behest of his parents. He knew how dangerous it was to be my friend. The Alpha could banish his family, or worse, have them executed for colluding with the traitor's daughter.     "You shouldn't be seen talking to me." I replied, my voice sounding foreign to me.     He glanced around the hall before closing both our lockers and dragging me into a nearby empty classroom.     "If you think I give a damn about what the Alpha might or might not do right now, you're out of your mind." He spoke finally. "I know you're in silver again, but I can tell something else is wrong. What happened, Chastity?"     "It's nothing, really." I sighed, trying to get him to drop the matter.     "This isn't nothing." He sighed, gesturing toward me.     Looking down at my body, I realized that I was barely dressed. In my haze, I hadn't bothered to put myself together properly, though with what little I had in the way of clothing, it was already a difficult task. My eyes widened as I spotted the bruises along my wrists and forearms.     "I haven't been sleeping well because of the collar." I lied. "With the heavy lifting and deep cleaning, I must have given myself some bruises during my daily duties."     Rob pursed his lips together, his face full of skepticism. I could sense his desire to press the issue further, but no words left his mouth. He gave me a quick hug and exited the room with a sigh. I waited a few moments to provide him with enough time to get away from the room before following him out.     I wasn't prepared for the scene I saw when I reemerged in the hallway. The chatter had died down, and the raucous laughter of teen boys had subsided. I could feel people staring at me, and panic began to creep in. My eyes scanned the hall, trying to find the source of the stares. At the far end, there stood Billy, clutching his jaw with murder in his eyes. Rob stood before him; fist clenched at his side, knuckles bloodied. From the way the back of his head moved, I could tell that he was saying something to the Alpha's son, but I couldn't make out the words.     My heart pounded in my throat, watching my only friend stand toe to toe with the future Alpha. I wasn't afraid for myself, but for the punishment the Alpha would dole out once he heard about the incident. Billy's eyes flicked from Rob's face toward me, and a malicious grin spread across his lips. Rob turned to glance at me, his face burning with fury. My hand fluttered to my lips to suppress the whimper that threatened to escape as my friend c****d his fist back and nailed Billy square in the nose.     Before I fainted, the last thing I saw was Billy's hand partially shifting as he reached for my friend's throat.
