Sol looked up from his seat, and gave Starlight a glare. “For who is a star to be upon my face?” His voice was filled with venom and he was drop dead mad.
Starlight gasps quietly, “what the heck is your problem?” her voice was filled with annoyance, obviously, no one could have insulted her that bad.
Sol pulled his hood back up, and continued to listen to his music. Starlight couldn’t help but just admire how dreamy he looked when he was just quiet..and focused. Estelle and Aether, who were watching the whole thing happen, were wide eyed.
The both of them were whispering to each other quietly, “Did Sol just insult starlight?” Aether said, his voice no louder than a whisper. Estelle nodded, “What do you expect?” she said with a hint of sarcasm.
Starlight forced herself to stop staring at Sol, and focused on her own work. The Professor, Junius, started speaking. “For all students, what does the earth have in common with the other planets in the solar system?” Aether’s hand immediately shot up, he was so eager that he looked like a dog on zoomies.
Starlight, Sol, and Estelle were just dumbfounded. They never studied for this up coming question, and that could be possibly on the test. Professor Junius was patiently waiting for more hands to raise, his gaze lingering on Starlight longer than usual. His eyebrows slightly raised and he took a huff,
“Starlight Moonshine? It’s been a while since you ever answered a question of mine. Would you try this time?”
Starlight’s heart instantly dropped, she was scared out of her mind. Sol noticed that she was apprehensive, so he answered the question for her. “Sir..they all have an atmosphere?”
Professor Junius just shakes his head in disbelief. “My asteroid..you guys barely know your planets, do you?” A sudden banter could be heard in the front..Seraphina and Lyra. They were so amused about Sol getting the answer wrong.
Infront of Starlight and Sol were two twins. Mari and Marsi, Both from Mars. Mari, the twin who was obviously pretty, giggled at Starlight. “I can’t believe the moonshine kid is scared because of a question!”
Marsi, who was chuckling, nodded her head in agreement. “It’s such a tremendous shame of your kind..maybe the stories were true. All stars are stupid and scared!” The twins both howled out loud.
A quiet girl next to them, Eari, was from Earth but born with asteroid parents. “Don’t mind them..they are just bullies.” She remarked. Starlight just nodded, and Sol just stayed to himself.
Sol glanced over at Starlight, but in an instant, he turned his whole chair to face Starlight. “Why are you here? All moonshines like you deserve to be dead and gone..” his behavior was unexpectedly wicked.
Starlight was dumbfounded, and she paused for a brief moment, not knowing what to say. “Because I survived..unlike my brother, Moonlight.” She exclaimed.
Sol just shook his head in disagreement, a sudden disgust look on his face. “That can’t be possible..whatever your name is. You should be ashamed and live with the guilt of your brother’s death.” He boasted.
Starlight was boiling with anger, her veins slowly turning visible on her neck. She gripped her fist, as her knuckles turned white. “Excuse me? You have no right saying that about me and my brother.” She scowled at him, before she bolted out of the room in tears.
Estelle and Aether quickly caught up on the conversation, and they hustled right next to Starlight. Estelle was talking to Starlight on how Sol was just a big lump of shame, and Aether was quietly checking their surroundings.
Sol suddenly walked out of the classroom, and discreetly followed the trio to the bathroom. His parents taught him about stealth, which he has perfected in.
Right as they reached the bathroom doors, someone had gripped Starlight’s arm. It was firm but gentle. As Starlight looked over her shoulder to see who it was, they already ran off into the boys restroom.
“You cannot be serious! The universe is now blessing me with curses!” Starlight cried out. She ran into the girls restroom, and locked herself in the bathroom stall.
Estelle and Aether didn’t know what to do, so they just headed back to the classroom, murmurs were quietly heard from starlight outside.
Starlight was determined to find out who had gripped her arm that moment, because whoever did it, was gonna get a terrific punch to the gut.
She quietly waited outside of the restrooms, observing who would come out. But to her luck, no one did. Even after 15 minutes of waiting, her legs were sore.
Starlight just sighed, and as she turned to walk away, someone had put their hand on her shoulder.
