Chapter Twenty-Eight ***Mila*** I stare at my reflection in the mirror, taking in my olive complexion and my thick manicured eyebrows. I apply mascara to my long lashes, and lip balm to my dry lips. It’s a very natural look, but it’s the most effort I’ve put into my appearance in a month. I dress casually in leggings and an oversized sweater. I slide into a pair of Bobs and head to the kitchen for coffee. “Freja,” my grandmother greets me. “Coffee, pretty girl?” She asks. I smile, but it doesn’t quite reach my eyes. “Yes, please.” This has been our morning routine for the last two weeks.
