“Are you sure this is something you want to do sweetheart?” my mom asked on the phone as I loaded the last box into the back of my car. I took one last look around and let out a sigh, excited for this new beginning but terrified of what I’m actually heading into, but I’ll never admit that out loud. “If what you’re telling me is correct then you know how dangerous this could turn out to be.”
I knew my mother worried. She worried a lot about me since my dad died a few years in what people are saying is a freak accident, but I know better. I know there is more to what happened to dad than what people were telling me, but that’s a whole other story for another time.
