Chan's POV
What is taking him so long? The rain has stopped and I also need to go home because mom is probably waiting for me already. Should I just leave him here? But I also want to thank him for the food, actually it was delicious. Lucas may seem like an annoying person at first but he's probably just like that and besides, he has a warm personality.
"Sorry, there are a lot of people using the comfort room."
"Oh, it's fine. I have to go home. Thank you for the food."
"Wait, let's go together. We are neighbors right?" Oh right, we can go together since we are neighbors. Should we?
"Oh--okay." We took a cab going to the compound we are leaving at. It was actually awkward. Really awkward. Geez. We are not even speaking at one another.
"Sir, what's the problem?"
"We are stuck. There's something going on there."
"What?" I opened the window and Lucas also did. There's really something going on because there's a school bus which is blocking the middle of the road and I think it is something serious.
"Someone is trying to ambush the school bus." Lucas whispered but I heard it.
"What?!" What the?! Are they really that desperate?! "Lucas, where are you going?!" He suddenly went out of the cab and paved his way to the school bus where the ambush is happening. I need to follow him!
"Lucas wait for me!"
"Call the police, now!" He shouted at me. Arriving at the school bus, I saw an old man holding a gun and holding a little boy in his arms, and the driver of the school bus is already shot by the gun! Geez! What are we going to do?! Lucas was standing there next to the old man. Chan, calm down. Call the police now!
"You fools! You will never come out here alive! My daughter died because no one had helped us with her medication! No one should live in peace! If I lost my daughter, you will all lose yours!" The old man shouted which made the parents and the little students cry louder. This is insane. They are insane.
"Lucas, no one is answering the phone at the police station!" I whispered.
"I'll try to calm the man down, go to the police station, report what is happening." He replied. Is he serious?! How can he calm this old man down?!
"Sir, put that gun down."
"And who are you?"
"Please put that down. Do you think your daughter will be happy up there about what you are doing right now? Your daughter must live in paradise at peace. Imagine her seeing you like that, she is probably crying right now."
"Who are you huh?! What do you know to say that huh?!" Sh*t! He pointed the gun to Lucas.
"Lucas!"
"Go Chan! Just go!"
"But I can't leave you here!"
"Just go!" I ran as fast as I could to reach the police station.
"Sir! This is urgent! There is someone who ambushed a school bus right now. It was here nearby! Please, help them!"
"What?!"
"Please, they need help!"
"Team, let's move!"
They hurriedly went out of the police station and took their police cars. "Miss, hop in." Someone offered me to ride on their police car so I rode it, heading to the crime scene. I ran to Lucas who is still standing there, trying to calm the old man down.
The policemen pointed their guns to the old man and tried to arrest him.
"Put your gun down if you still want to live!"
Handcuffs were put on his wrist when the old man put his gun down and he was eventually bought to one of the police cars.
"Geez." It was horrifying. I know these kids are really scared.
"Don't worry, parents and students. Everything is fine now. We will make sure that he will be punished by the law." Right now, unboard the bust and wait for the medical representatives that we called." The head chief police looked at us two. "Thank you to you two."
I was scared. I was really scared but I know these kids are terrified and trauma might hit them. We helped and accompanied the students and parents to unboard the bus and make sure that no one inside the bus was left.
"Are you okay?" I asked Lucas because I know he is also scared about what happened.
"Of course." Whoa. Lucas tried to save the children from the old man. I really don't know he is this brave. I salute him already. He really looked manly right now. He became really attractive.
"You are brave." I uttered.
"You know what Chan, as long as you are living and you can do anything right, or turn things to their right place, you have to do it. So you won't regret anything." He's right. I really thought he was a childish one but he's not. He's way more mature than me.
"You're right. Oh--Little kid, are you okay?" He was crying at the corner and no one was with him. I knelt down to match his height and he suddenly hugged me when I asked him if he was okay then he cried out loud so I caressed his back to calm him down.
"It's okay now, little boy. We are here. You are already safe." He is alone. No one was with him when that incident happened. I carried the little boy as soon as he stopped crying. "Why are you alone?" I asked him. Lucas was looking at us while assisting the other kids and parents who are currently treated by the medical representatives who just arrived.
The little boy just lowered his eyes when I asked him why he was alone and that hit me. He doesn't have parents already? "I am only with my grandma." I can't help it, tears suddenly fell on my face when I heard that. He was still very young but he is already abandoned by his parents. It hurts my heart.
"Why are you crying?" He suddenly asked me.
"Huh? No--I just suddenly remembered something. Don't mind me."
"Thank you for saving us."
"No, it wasn't me. It was him." I pointed at Lucas who is now playing at some of the kids. He looks really cool and attractive.
"Is he your husband?" HUH?! NO!
"Huh? Aigoo. No."
"Boyfriend?" Wow, this kid knows a lot.
"He's just my friend, little kid."
"He's like a superhero. He saved us."
"Hmm." I nodded. "He's like a superhero."

"Today is really unbelievable." I uttered while we are walking along the street, going to our respective houses.
"I know. It was really unbelievable." Lucas responded.
"How can you do that?"
"Do what?"
I stood at our gate waiting for his answer. "Save them."
"Hmm. I don't know. I just thought I need to save them." Wow, is that even a valid reason?
"Wow huh? But, thank you. You showed me that you are not what I think about." He frowned in front of me. What about that face?
"Wait, what do you think of me?"
I laughed a bit. "I thought you are just a childish, happy-go-lucky and annoying person."
"Wow, that hurts my pride."
"I'm sorry okay. I'm wrong. So.." I offered my hand to him. "Friends?" He smiled at me and accepted my handshake.
"Friends." We laughed at ourselves realizing that we are like fools here.
"Okay, I'll go now. Bye! See you around!" I waved my hand at him and entered our gate. He was still standing there and just went inside their house when I was already inside.
Lucas' POV
"Geez! Big Boss! You scared me! What are you doing here?!" I asked him because as soon as I entered our house, he was standing there like a fool.
"You know I am watching you."
"Aish! I know!"
"How is it going?" He asked.
"I am still on it! Can you please stop scaring me like that! And I always send my report so I assume, you are updated."
"I am just reminding you, Lucas. You need to finish your mission on time."
"Big Boss! Do you not trust me? I can finish it on time so I can peacefully go there." I nodded and grinned on him but he just rolled his eyes on me. Okay, it's not effective. "Why are you here, by the way."
"To scold you!" He exclaimed which made me cover my ears. His voice really hurts my ear. Geez!
"Why?! Why?! What did I do wrong again?!"
"The school bus! I told you not to mingle on other people's lives! Focus on your mission!"
"But Big Boss! They are in trouble! I can't stand there and do nothing!"
"What am I going to do to you, you fool!" I just grinned at him cutely hoping that it will be effective. I just felt the need to do something so I have to. I need to save those kids awhile ago. Is that even wrong?
"Well, I have to go. Don't forget my reminder!"
"Okay Big Boss. Take care!" I waved my hand on him as soon as he disappeared from my sight. The report. Right.
