34 Mat was apparently unconcerned about the logistics of his decision. His inability to doubt himself amazed Ava. He hadn’t even used the word try. The next morning, in the midst of making coffee, feeding and walking Brutus, showering, and getting ready for work, Ava asked him a few clarifying questions: How will you get the job back if it’s already filled?
