CHAPTER 10: DREAM TURN DANGEROUS

AMARA'S POV Darkness swallowed everything. I wasn't sure how I got here. One moment, I was drifting off to sleep; the next, I was standing alone in a forest that didn't feel like a dream at all. Moonlight slanted through the trees. The air smelled damp and cold, and every step I took seemed to echo louder. A rustling sound in the bushes froze me. Low growl. Eyes glowed in the darkness, sharp and hungry. I couldn't make out their shapes at first, just after them, circling me. Wolves. A pack. They closed in, sniffing the air, smiling, sizing me up.
