Music has always been an essential part of Christian worship. Most of us, from the time we are little children, sing praises to God and through the years come to know and love many hymns. When I was just three years old, I first sang "Jesus Loves Me," and I have grown to love many great Christian hymns.
I wonder if you ever give a thought to the people who created these wonderful works of faith and beauty. There is a saying that great music is inspired by the angels, and maybe that"s true.
Fanny Crosby was born in southeast New York State on March 24, 1820. This beautiful little girl became totally blind at the age of six weeks.
Despite this cruel handicap, Fanny, who later taught at the New York Institute for the Blind, had a wonderful and positive attitude toward life.
