Chapter 57

703 Words

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. It"s the time the leaves turn to flame, and the hills are a riot of color. In the crisp autumn air, my thoughts go to covered bridges, like you see in the New England states, gathering wood for the fireplace, and hunting pinecones. It"s a time for self-communion. Autumn is also the start of the holiday season, and holidays are meant for families, for good times, and for remembering what each special holiday means to us. Thanksgiving will soon be upon us, and a million memories crowd my mind. When I was a little girl, I remember helping mama in the kitchen making pies, cooking cranberries and mincemeat, and helping with the turkey stuffing and the Indian pudding. Now, I do all these things with my own family, and my children are the helpers.
