Life is a most peculiar mixture of joy and sorrow, success and failure, hope and despair, faith and distrust, laughter and tears, ambition and the lack of it, honesty and deceit, sobriety and dissipation, industry and laziness, service to others and selfish consideration of self, and many comparable opposite factors. To have a well-balanced personality, it is essential that the positive factors are in control and the negative ones rarely get a chance to show their ugly faces. To be a happy individual, it is necessary to make every effort to cultivate the positive factors listed above and to try to eliminate the negative ones.
