"Well," James finally started to break the silence after downing his coffee. He traded looks with both Everett and Kathryn, hoping one of them would speak up.
"I have a suggestion," Kathryn spoke up. "How about explanations wait until later," she paused with a slight nod towards Everett, hoping that James understood there was something better left than not said in front of Everett. "And we just talk about the last 18 years?" She was starting to feel like a hypocrite. After all, she had had plenty of time to tell James everything but didn't and now she was trying to get the conversation going between the two of them.
"There's not mch for me to say about that," James spoke up. "It's just been a repeat of what I've always done."
"I know that," Kathryn said. "But he doesn't," she reinforced
