Meeting destiny

Lucan's POV "To the right!" The forest trees were loud yet silent. Occasionally, they would sound like they were sighing as if telling a sad story. I ignored the sighs, fighting her in my path as l ran with some of the other wolves, after an old wizard who might have gone mad. He had been spreading blasphemy through the kids in an adventure pack, and they could not stand for that. Not when it had to do with tales of the revered Celestian Luna. A being born of the moon just like the goddess herself. The one I had sworn to find and help her defeat the darkness that had taken my entire pack and village. My sole purpose for being alive was this revenge. "Lucan!" l halted at my steps. It was the voice of the old wizard. It sounded like it was mocking me. That made me angry. Having no idea if he knew my name through divination or his witchcraft. l turned around in search of him or his presence. I had been trained from a young age to read the forest. My pack once thrived as guardians of both the Celestian Luna and the forest. "Where are you, you sneaky bastard!" I yelled. I could feel that the other people who were also in the pursuit had stopped. A strange gust of wind blew past me and l heard the wizard start to laugh. "Little guardian boy, although our fates are intertwined, I am not for you to catch today. However, there is something much more interesting for you, and it lies deep in the heart of the forest," the man said with a hoarse chuckle. One could tell that he was ancient from his voice. "I don't care how you know me. If I find you! You'll..." I could not finish my sentence as he interrupted with another mocking laugh. "You'll do nothing, boy. Youngsters are always so hot-blooded. We will meet again, mateless vagabond. Go and meet the one that I have been speaking of." That was the last sign of the old wizard. I knew he was gone, but I felt something else. It was powerful, pulling me towards the deepest parts of the forest. As I got closer, I smelled blood. Someone was hurt. "Why did you bring me here?" I asked no one in particular. The trees were silent. There was no sign of fess either. Normally, they resided in the dark parts of the forest. They knew everything and were very noisy. "Ugh," I heard an irritated moan. I turned just as some vines were opening up to reveal a woman. One whose beauty could end me and I would be glad to have died. Her eyes were closed. She looked rich. Clear skin, delicate fingers that held down on a gaping knife wound. I watched as the wound closed up fast, as if kissed shut by a silver light. "Why is such a beauty sleeping here in the forest?" I whispered as I crouched down in front of her. Luna! Goddess! I could hear them, the faes that guard this forest. Their words were filled with fear. It was impossible to miss. They were hiding but wanted to be heard. "You all jest today. Why is everyone mocking the name of the celestial Luna?" I spat in anger. "Ugh," she moaned again. Her voice was barely audible. I wanted to wake her up and kiss her like those children's stories told at moonlight. What is wrong with you, Lucan Morgan? I scolded myself internally. My body was actually reacting to her groans like a boy who just approached puberty. "Come out, Fae!" I said, then I murmured some words of pacification in an old language that was almost lost. Slowly, a flower bloomed and a creature that was beautiful, resembling the forest flew out. It rested on the grass beside me. "Ǝɍǝ ɠæṣ" I looked at the Fae. It was said that something ominous had happened in the night. "Ɠæṣ. Fr̃ǝɍǝ ɓaịṣ" The Fae shook it's head when I asked what had happened. It couldn't speak about it. Instead, it proceeded to show me. The Fae pointed at a withered and dried up plant. That meant death! I watched it kiss the plant. It immediately came to life and even bloomed a flower. "Impossible!" I exclaimed while looking at the girl. Had she died? The Fae came to my ears and whispered that she was not healing when she had been stabbed. In exchange for the information, I had to drop a price. I cut from one of my claws and offered to the Fae with words of gratitude. I watched it turn the claw into something and put on its hair. I watched the girl as her breathing picked up. Looked like she would be our of her slumber soon. "I can't do this at all. I'll fail," she cried out. Sitting up sharply, she opened her eyes and I saw the impossible. For a few seconds after she opened them, her eyes were void of form. Just an infinite tangle of sharp silver light. It was almost hypnotic. "What are you?" I asked, bringing out my dagger and standing on alert. Once her eyes came into focus, she stood and moved away from me. "Stay away from me," she cried out. She had her claws out, which showed that she did not lack knowledge of combat. "I'd tell you the same thing, gorgeous, but your dress isn't so white anymore, and you look like my life is in danger because of you." I smirked, still alert incase she attacked me in a frenzy. I walked towards her but she backed up towards a tree. Such cute movements. "Don't move another step then," she commanded. Her voice carried authority. "What will you do, little feline? Scratch?" I was having fun even though she looked like she would actually kill me anytime soon. "I'm the one who should be scared. Poor guy like me," I sat down on the spot. She looked frightened but still asked. "Who are you!"
