CHAPTER EIGHTEENBlind Today is Friday, three days after Alex’s arrest, and there’s no sign that anyone knows about my role. No scary people have been following me. None of Alex’s friends are paying me extra attention, beyond the usual bullying, of course. I think I’m in the clear. And I can’t wait to get out of gym. Not because I can finally leave Dirk behind, but because Celeste and I are going to study together in the library after school. We’d been told today about a test coming up in Calculus, and Celeste wants to get as much tutoring as possible. The bell eventually sounds, and I make my way over to the library doors. Celeste has farther to travel from her last class, so I wait outside for her to join me. It doesn’t take long before her lithe figure enters my field of vision. S
